‘I found an abandoned £3.5 million mansion and couldn’t believe what was inside’

A woman from Berkshire who explores abandoned places has shared a look inside a hidden mansion near London that is worth £3.5 million and was left surprised by one thing she found inside

An adventurer stumbled across a hidden, abandoned mansion near London and was taken aback by one particular discovery inside. The TikTok user @Shell_ExploresUK, from Berkshire, is known for her explorations of deserted locations, including bowling alleys, cinemas, and houses.

In one of her TikTok posts, she offered her followers a sneak peek into a mansion shrouded by trees, which she claims is worth a staggering £3.5 million. She revealed that the property is nestled within a private estate on the outskirts of London and is supposedly owned by an oil investor named Bob, who has allegedly had numerous multi-million pound companies.

Her post, a slideshow of images, shows the various rooms within the grand house, with only the top floor visible from the outside due because it’s hidden by the surrounding nature.

Venturing inside the property, the TikTok user snapped photos of the hallway, bedrooms, kitchen, living room, and more.

Certain areas of the house appear more rundown than others, such as a bedroom where the ceiling has collapsed.

The explorer also discovered old food and drink products and a sleek black Jaguar parked in the garage. However, what truly shocked her was the abundance of family photos left behind.

In her TikTok post, she claimed that Bob once lived in the property with his partner and daughter but relocated to his London mansion following a relationship breakdown in 2014, leaving behind his Jaguar, BMW and “most of his possessions, including a picture of him and his daughter on the mantelpiece.”

Alongside the photo believed to be of Bob and his daughter, there’s a framed handwritten note, likely written by a child.

The TikToker added: “Maybe the mansion holds too many memories of happier times that he can’t come back to deal with and sell up or maybe he’s leaving it as an investment.”

The post has garnered more than a dozen comments, with one user humorously asking: “Are you sure it’s abandoned? Cuz (because) that’s how I leave my house every day.”

Several rooms inside the mansion appear to be in fairly good condition, despite some mess and abandoned personal items, like a BP North Sea jacket hung up near the stairs, a toothbrush in the bathroom, books, posters and a selection of oils, from BP North Sea Oil to Dammam No. 7 Light Crude Oil Saudi Arabia.

Another commenter pondered: “I wonder what the date is on them old food tins and packets, again how can somebody leave their family photos behind?”.

Shell_ExploresUK responded: “The date on the food was 2014 and food in the freezer was dated 2013. I know, I can’t believe the family photos are left behind, there was so many.”

A third user chimed in: “That’s brilliant. I’d love to explore this! How interesting.”
