It may be a month until Easter but Cadburys has slashed the price early on plenty of eggs, with one eye catching deal in particular offering the bargain of the season
While we all know buying chocolate in bars is much more economical than splurging on an Easter egg, nothing says ‘hello spring’ like a proper egg packed with extra treats.
As a mum-of-two trying to stem the tide of chocolate snacks in the house, I usually try and find a fun craft set at The Works for Easter, and this year, I’ve picked up these cute egg-shaped mini gardens where my eight- and ten-year-olds can grow themselves. However, despite all my best efforts for my children, nothing beats the wow factor of a proper egg, and I always end up cracking, no pun intended, and getting them a small one to go alongside. Let’s face it, it doesn’t feel like Easter without one does it?
For many of us, Cadbury is the go-to for such treats, with Mini Eggs, Creme Eggs and newer additions like the Caramel Egg hitting supermarket shelves seemingly before tubs of Miniature Heroes have been cleared away for Christmas. The brand sells Easter-themed versions of all its best-loved chocolates and has recently slashed prices of many of their gifts, eggs and hampers for the occasion, despite the big day still being a month away. Options range from sharing boxes perfect for splitting up to gift, through to luxe looking giant options like personalised gifts.

But I’ve spotted a way to get a hamper with not only enough eggs for the whole family but also some bonus treats on the side, thanks to stacking deals using a money-saving website. Usually costing £20, Cadbury Gifts Direct has reduced their Family Easter Chocolate Egg Selection to £18 in the sale, but shoppers signing up for membership to deals site TopCashback can get a free £15 bonus on their first purchase.
Cashback on the spend means the box of treats effectively costs £1.95, cheaper than the price of a large bar of Dairy Milk in any major supermarket. The Family Easter Chocolate Egg Selection is packed full of tempting treats for everyone, ranging from white chocolate buttons for smaller members of the family through to luxurious caramel nibbles perfect for grown ups to share in front of the TV.
The full box includes a 96g Cadbury Dairy Milk Chocolate Buttons Egg, a 98g White Chocolate Buttons Egg, a 96g Cadbury Caramel Nibbles Easter Egg and a 96g Cadbury Mini Eggs Easter Egg. Alongside the four eggs, chocoholics also get 80g of Mini Eggs and a five-pack of the brand’s iconic mixed Creme Eggs, including Milk, White and Caramel Versions, adding another 200g weight to all the goodies inside. This means after cashback shoppers get 666g of chocolate for £1.95, working out at 29p per 100g, considerably cheaper not just than high street supermarkets but also Amazon where the cheapest Dairy Milk works out at £1.24 per 100g.
Shoppers can either send it to a friend or family member, with an option to add a gift message at checkout, or get it delivered direct for a fridgeful of choccie treats to last them to Good Friday and beyond. If you’re looking for huge eggs with impact, this might not be the right deal, although bigger items are discounted, too.
However, for my money, this is the perfect size set for our family, especially at the price. I have no doubt the eggs will end up being eaten while we’re whiling away a morning of the school holidays making mini gardens or doing crystal art, which is the other pocket money friendly craft of choice in our house currently.
Cadbury is not the only brand trying to tempt shoppers with getting their orders in early. There are some great alternatives available, particularly if you’re looking for something a bit different for older kids and grownups. Hotel Chocolat’s range for 2025 includes some show-stopping eggs and their quirky easter egg sandwiches, which now come in five different flavours. In our house, the lamb and mint (rest assured, the lamb is purely decoration) is the favourite, but the entire range is two for £22 for shoppers keen to taste test the other options too.
Lindt fans have a choice of eggs devoted to many of their flavours beyond the iconic red original ball including Tiramisu, Salted Caramel and Blood Orange among others. If chocolate isn’t your thing, then luxury liquorice brand Lakrids by Bulow is another great option.
Their gourmet licorice is made in small batches, it’s gluten free and packs a punch. While its premium price tag means you’re not going to binge it in one sitting, its flavour and intensity mean you won’t need to, as each piece can be savoured, making it a sweet treat that will last well into spring. Their eggs this year come in zesty white chocolate and passion fruit, crispy caramel and crunchy toffee flavour while the small spring selection box at £16.95 is a great way to get a taste of everything.
