‘I had an Elemis Spa facial – this oil leaves my skin glowing and now I’m a convert’

The 50-minute treatment gave my skin a healthy reset and there is one hero product I fell in love with

With at-home beauty tech and skincare products with clinical-grade ingredients largely available in the market, I’d save up on money and skip salon appointments for home treatments. But a recent staycation in Warwickshire brought me to a visit to the Elemis Spa, and I had the opportunity to indulge in some well-earned ‘me time’.

I had a 50-minute appointment with facial expert, Jas, who offered me a Touch Reveal Facial using Elemis products to help minimise the look of pores and uneven skin texture, and reveal smooth, glowing skin. The Elemis Superfood Facial Oil, priced at £57 for 15ml, is the one product that turned me into an Elemis fan.

For context, I have combination skin but suffer from occasional breakouts despite following a simple yet thorough skincare routine. Jas started off with the Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm (from £14.50) to remove makeup, as well as grime and dirt after my long journey to the hotel. It’s a three-in-one cleansing workhorse that melts into oil on skin, then transforms into a milk when contacted with water.

Then she picked up the Balancing Lavender Toner, £30, to remove every last trace of makeup while softening the skin for the next step, exfoliation. The Pro-Collagen Glow Boost Exfoliator, which is available in a 15ml sample size for £12, has tiny spherical exfoliating cellulose beads, to decongest my pores by lifting dull, dead skin off my face.

After that, it was a 10-minute mask before Jas wrapped up the facial with the essence and the Superfood Facial Oil. The fast-absorbing oil is like giving my skin its daily greens, and my face is left with a healthy glow. With a blend of omega-rich cucumber oil, flaxseed, and radish oil, it provides deep hydration that lasts for hours.

A nutrient-rich facial oil that feeds your skin with 9 antioxidant-rich superfood oils

For years, I have avoided using facial oil because I think it could cause further breakouts on my combination skin. But I was wrong. The Elemis Superfood Facial Oil hydrates my skin, and it feels baby-soft. Independent trials revealed that 92% of testers agreed that this product left skin with a healthy, radiant glow.

But some people said it ‘sits heavy’ on their skin and one customer disliked the fragrance of the oil, sharing: “I preferred using it in the daytime and while it felt nice on my skin, the scent was too much for me. I’m not keen on heavy fragrance in my products, but this oil did have a nice texture.”

Other than the Elemis oil, the Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Multi Purpose Dry Oil, available at LookFantastic for £26.40, is another five-star product loved by shoppers that can also be used on hair and body. At Amazon, Trilogy’s Certified Organic Rosehip Oil, £22.41, is recommended for beauty fans who seek for redness relief, scar care, and pro-ageing support.

Elemis has also included the Superfood Facial Oil in their Wonder Glow Christmas gift set. It’s priced at £70 with products worth £111 in total and shoppers can try the Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm, Superfood Glow Priming Moisturiser and Superfood Midnight Facial.
