Small enough that I barely notice it in my cupboard this cordless vacuum has changed the game for me
After living the house share life for three years I finally moved into a place where I’m not queueing for the bathroom and realised there’s actually a lot of stuff that just come with house shares that I didn’t have – including a vacuum cleaner.
I don’t know about you, but I don’t personally like seeing my cleaning products out and about when I have guests over or I’m just relaxing at home. Most people I know like to hide these things in a cupboard under the stairs but I very quickly discovered the cupboard under mine is tiny and a lot of standing vacuum cleaners wouldn’t be able to stow away easily.
Luckily I was able to try out Ultenic U16 Cordless Vacuum, which is said to be as good as Shark and Dyson. I tried it out for myself and it’s been great in whisking up dust in ‘hard-to-reach’ places.

The first thing I noticed was how tiny the box was, which honestly thrilled me as it means it can be small enough to neatly hide under my stairs. The actual electric part is tiny and charges quite quickly – which then gives me a full hour for cordless hoovering.
Not only that but I can really easily change the size of if which is ideal for those pesky kitchen spots and getting the stairs done. It has a touch screen, which I’ve never experienced before with a vacuum cleaner. This makes it easy to boost the suction up to turbo which I found very useful when clearing up some chipped paint that had shown up on my kitchen counter.
You can also use this screen to see how much battery life your vacuum has – honestly mine was charged up within 30 minutes and the part you charge is easily detached so could charge up on your desk or countertop.
I love the light feature when using the vacuum to the fullest of it’s abilities as it really highlights dust that’s easy to miss. I initially was borrowing my cousin’s Shark vacuum when I moved into my new house but I’m completely team Ultenic now.
I do think cordless vacuums have a little less power than those plugged into the mains system but for the sake of not constantly switching plugs and tripping over wires I’m completely sold. How easy it goes from a full sized to a handheld is ideal as well, especially seeing how most of my family members ending up forking out for two hoover to do just that.
There’s even a wall mount that makes for easier storage. Gone are the days of me lugging a Henry up and down the stairs. The Ultenic U16 is currently £159 when buying directly from the brand, reduced from £219, or also available on Amazon for £135.98 in a limited time deal.
