When Lulu first set eyes on her now boyfriend Topsikkest, she’d believed him to be a man in his twenties. She was ‘shocked’ and furious when she finally learned the truth
A teenager has opened up about why he lied about his age to his older girlfriend, only telling her the truth after they’d already slept together.
Lulu first laid eyes on her now boyfriend, Topsikkest, around one year ago in her friend’s neighbourhood, where she’d always see him out and about walking his dog, clad in a hoodie. Opening up in an episode of Love Don’t Judge, Lulu recalled, “He was really tall, I liked him”.
Standing at a towering 6ft 5, with a “deep voice”, Lulu, then 23, assumed Topsikkest was also in his twenties. He didn’t correct her on this and pretended he was 20. Little did she know then that Topsikkest was only 18 years old – young enough to still be in school over in the States.
Topsikkest explained: “I lied about my age because I truly thought she wasn’t going to give me a chance. So I showed her before I told her I was 18 years old”. Things moved quickly from there, and it wasn’t long until their relationship became intimate.
It was only then that Lulu discovered from somebody else that she was, in fact, dating a teen, and rang him in a rage.

Lulu, from Louisiana, remembered: “I’m wondering why people ask me, ‘Why are you dating that little boy?’ And then that’s when somebody made me aware; they told me his real age. I was shocked because he never told me.”
Although initially furious to learn Topsikkest’s secret, Lulu decided to give things a go, regarding him as far more mature than other 18-year-olds she knew, including her younger brother, whom she regarded as a “child”. According to Lulu: “He didn’t act like a normal 18-year-old. He acted more mature. I was like, maybe we can try it.”
Not everyone approved of the relationship, including Lulu’s dad, who curtly remarked, “That’s yet to be determined”, when asked about Topsikkest’s chances with his “princess”. However, so far the pair have continued against the odds, and are now expecting a baby together.
Lulu, who is already mum to a nine-year-old daughter, has since opened up about their age gap relationship online in a video that has sparked a range of responses. She shared: “I ended up making a TikTok. It said, when people ask me why my baby daddy is 19 and I’m 24, and after that it got 2.7 million views.” She added: “Some people told me they wish my baby don’t make it. We get t****** all the time.”
The young couple have had to deal with a fair bit of negative feedback, with online critics leaving comments such as, “That’s disgusting”, “goofy screwed up his life and his life hasn’t even started”, and “it’s giving desperate.”
However, the couple don’t let such remarks bring them down, and are “excited” to be welcoming their new arrival.
