After losing a huge six stone due to Mounjaro, one woman has shared some of the other symptoms she has noticed since she started taking the jab nearly a year ago
A woman has revealed how she’s managed to drop six stone thanks to taking a weight loss jab – but has shared some of the grim side effects it comes with.
Bethany Diana has gone from a size 18 to size eight and says it’s made her a “better version” of herself thanks to Mounjaro (tirzepatide). But despite the staggering weight loss, she has shared how she’s noticed other symptoms from the jab.
Mounjaro is usually prescribed on the NHS to those with type two diabetes, and it has a side effect of weight loss, which makes it appealing to those trying to lose weight.

Known as GLP-1 agonists, Mounjaro, Wegovy and Ozempic work to slow digestion and reduce appetite by mimicking hormones which regulate hunger and feelings of fullness. They are designed to act like one of these hormones, known as glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1).
Bethany, 27, has been open about her weight loss journey online, posting under the name @bethanydianax, including the side effects such as diarrhoea and bad breath. In her video, she has managed to rack up over 109,000 likes and nearly 80,000 likes.
Some of the other nasty side effects Bethany has been experiencing since first taking the jab in July 2024 is hair loss, and ‘Sulphur burbs’ which are particularly unpleasant. Sulphur burps are burbs which have a nasty rotten egg smell, and happen when there is hydrogen sulfide gas in the gut.
Bethany also detailed how she’s also suffered with constipation, nausea, heartburn, wind and reflux too. She also said the jabs have suppressed her appetite, something that helps with weight loss as it makes you feel fuller for longer than usual.
But one of the other downsides that Bethany shared in a separate video is that Mounjaro “stole my booty” – something many people have complained about as their bums can become saggy due to the rapid weight loss. Despite all of the side effects, Bethany has no regrets on turning to Mounjaro and gushed: “But on the plus side I did lose six stone in nine months and I am such a better version of myself”.
It appears Bethany’s symptoms are common, as fellow TikTokers took to the comments to share their experiences. One person commented: “It’s the sulphur burps and the feeling of nausea which I cannot stand especially when I’m hardly eating anything to cause it. Still on the plus side weight is coming off well.”

Another wrote: “The bad breath. I can’t handle it luckily I don’t really have any other side affects other than the day after I jab but the bad breath I just can’t.”
While one Mounjaro user detailed how quickly they lost their appetite and said: “1 full day on Mounjaro today, had to force breakfast in me, No appetite for coffee and that upsets me, Now gonna try force lunch/dinner in me so far no side efects apart from a little nausea.”
