The woman was left wondering whether the Too Good to Go bag was actually worth it – but someone pointed out there was around £20 worth of food in the ‘crazy’ haul
Food waste app Too Good to Go has taken the UK by storm, with many desperate to get their hands on bags from their favourite retailers.
But is it really worth it when you have to go and pick it up, then either eat the stuff on the day or pray you’re given freezable items? TikToker @beckysbazaar was wondering the same thing when she went to collect her Greggs bag from Warrington, which set her back £2.59.
When she was back in her car, she showed off the haul she managed to grab, and everyone said Greggs was the “best value” on the app.
“Let’s see what’s inside,” she said as she pulled out a bacon and cheese wrap, an eclair, two pink iced doughnuts, a pack of cold sausage rolls, a chargrilled chicken oval bite sandwich, and a chicken salad baguette.
“Let me know if you think all of this food is worth £2.59,” she said, and people in the comments were flabbergasted by the contents she managed to get her hands on.
Someone wrote: “All that for £2.59? Wow! That is cheap! Making me hungry!” Another added: “Greggs Too Good to Go bags are the best value of all the companies who participate.” Someone disagreed, however, saying that recently, they’d seen someone with an M&S mega haul. They wrote: “I’ve seen someone grab a bag from Marks and Spencer’s before, and it surprised me how good of a haul it was.”
Other comments included: “Proper bargain. A decent amount,” “A steak bake is like £2.20, so yeah,” “About £20-worth in that bag,” “Wow, yes, well worth it,” and “Honestly, that’s just amazing.”
She isn’t the only person who has been nabbing bargains on the app either, as recently, TikTok user @lifeatgully headed over to Crave Catering LTD in Leicester with modest expectations, yet, he was left gobsmacked by the “mega haul” they crammed into his bags.
It was a treasure trove of festive gingerbread biscuits, a flapjack, a ham and English mustard sandwich, a baguette, several ham and cheese sandwiches, and two more baguettes, which he exclaimed looked “bangin’.”
The second bag, kindly gifted for free, was brimming with even more treats. He scored another biscuit, a Christmas vanilla cream square, additional baguettes, extra ham sandwiches, and even a salad bowl.
“Oh, oh my God, look,” he exclaimed, flaunting his bounty in front of the camera. Overwhelmed by the quantity, he declared: “Look how much there is,” struggling to hold everything while boasting: “That is absolutely wild, wild west.”
In the comments section, fans were quick to react, with one saying: “Best one yet, look at that mega haul”. And another was thrilled: “A surprise bag full of crisps… that would be the DREAM!”
