A man has shared his disgust over the baby names his sister has picked out for her twins – as he shares his concerns about her children being bullied throughout school as a result
A man has slammed his ‘airhead’ sister for giving her twins ‘ridiculous’ names that’ll likely result in them being bullied at school. He explained how his sister announced her pregnancy with her fifth and sixth children – and revealed their ‘creative’ names to her closest friends and family soon after.
However, not everyone was impressed with the monikers, with her brother believing them to be inappropriate names. The ‘girl dad’ said on Reddit: “She’s expecting twins, the doc told her that ones a boy and ones a girl. She says that she loved the name some celebrity picked out for her daughter, Navy. So she announced at her baby shower that she’s chosen, again I swear it’s true, the names ‘Army’ for the boy and ‘Navy’ for the girl…”
He says he refused to go to her baby shower after hearing the monikers – but explained how his wife reluctantly went simply to show her face there.
He added: “When my sister called, I just sort of said, ‘well, they are your children so you can name them whatever you want’.
“But I didn’t gush over them and tell her what wonderful and unique names they are. So she called me an unsupportive a***hole and hung up. My wife agrees with me but we thought we’d throw it out there.”

Wanting to know whether he’s in the wrong for telling his sister his true thoughts about her twins’ names, he has taken to social media to ask users for their thoughts.
In response, one user said: “Yes. It is the parent’s choice. But, I’m cringing for the amount of teasing/bullying/hard times they will have with names like those. In my view, parents do have to consider the future impact their choices will have on their offspring. Hopefully your sister changes her mind.”
Another user added: “Its not like you made a smarta** comment like, ‘Too bad its not triplets. Then you could have Army, Navy and Marine’.”
A third user said: “She clearly named them that for attention at this point if she’s upset you didn’t gush over them and make a big deal, and didn’t get the reaction she wanted. Plus, a lot of people just don’t get all gushy over baby stuff, it’s just reality, not sure what else to say.”
One more user added: “Your sister does not comprehend that these poor kids are going to be stuck with these names for at least 18 years until they can legally change them.
“Also with names like this they are most likely going to be bullied and teased unmercifully through school and possibly longer.
“I would not be gushing over them either. What does her husband say? I would try and talk some ‘sense’ into her. Her kids might end up hating her for the names.”
