‘I sampled new luxury Dubai chocolate but you’ll have to run to Tesco quickly to try it’

By staff16 June 2025No Comments3 Mins Read

This chocolate has been viral all over social media for ages, thanks to its unique flavour and texture, but when Senior Social News Reporter Danielle Kate Wroe tried this one, what did she think?

Dubai chocolate has been popular for quite some time now, and if you’ve sampled it for yourself, you’ll understand the hype around it. It’s tasty, it has a unique texture, and oftentimes, it comes with a hefty price tag that many Brits are loath to spend on a measly chocolate bar. But that’s where this version steps in. It’ll save your purse, and your tastebuds, because it’s so delicious.

Serving to be a more accessible version of GODIVA’s original Dubai-style chocolate bar – the handcrafted GODIVA Premium Dubai Chocolate with Crispy Pistachio & Kadayif Filling bar, available exclusively at Harrods, Selfridges, and the Covent Garden flagship for £24.95 – the reimagined bar will set you back just a tenner. Or, £7.95 with a Tesco Clubcard.

For those not in the know, Dubai Chocolate is a chocolate bar filled with kataifi and pistachio. Its unique texture makes the chocolate taste even more decadent than a normal bar.

But, you’ll have to be quick, as the limited edition bar will be taken off the shelves after June 17, so if you want to try it for yourself, I suggest going now.

I highly recommend you try it for yourself. It was smoother than other Dubai-style chocolate bars I’ve tried in the past. Perhaps less chunky and filling-filled, and the texture wasn’t quite as satisfying, but it still made for a seriously indulgent and delicious treat nonetheless.

If you’re in the supermarket doing your weekly shop anyway, and you spot this bar, for £7.95 it’s well worth a try, especially given that many other Dubai chocolate bars can retail upwards of £20.

While it may have been thinner than the Rifai bar I previously sampled, for the price difference, it really held its own.

However, on social media, many praised the GODIVA original bar, which retails at almost £25, saying it was the “best” that they’d had. Some even said on TikTok it was good that they’d made an “accessible” version for people who aren’t prepared to pay that price.

Rifai’s Dubai chocolate offering costs a whopping £21, which for 190g of chocolate, may make even those with the biggest sweet tooth wince.

However, I did describe this bar as “the cream of the crop,” and I truly stand by that. I even tried the M&S ‘The Big Daddy Pistachio’ after many across TikTok promised it was even better than Dubai chocolate. But the Rifai bar is still taking the top spot for me, personally.

Isabella Rogers, Chief Marketing Officer at GODIVA, said: “Inspired by the viral Dubai-style chocolate trend, our new GODIVA Crispy Kadayif & Pistachio Chocolate offers an effortless way for more people to experience our premium take on this indulgent sensation for a limited time only on the high street.

“From the signature GODIVA milk chocolate couverture to the delicate crunch of pistachios and crisp golden Kadayif, it’s a true feast for the senses — designed for those who may not make it to our Covent Garden boutique, but still want a taste of luxury”.
