There are many different ways to save money, but one group of friends have come up with a clever trick to always afford a girls trip. The group enjoy a yearly holiday all thanks to sharing one joint bank account between the six of them.

They took to TikTok to reveal their cunning hack and revealed how they all put in $20 (£14) a week, which pays for them all to go on a holiday every year.

In the video, one member of the group who goes by the username @kimbrindell on TikTok said: “Your sign to start a group bank account with ya mates and go on holidays every year,” as they all enjoyed a meal by the sea.

“My girlfriends and I are currently on a holiday and we have a shared bank account, and we all have a shared bank account so all six of us put $20 a week and go on holiday every single year.”

She revealed they have since travelled around Australia, visiting Tasmania (Tassie), Adelaide, and Noosa, in southern Queensland. But while the girls were gushing about their money saving ways, others were sceptical over how fair everyone was paying. One TikToker asked: “What do you do when there is one or two friends in the group who are not consistent with it?”

While another chimed: “Wow… this is love. The trust, the patience, the thought, all of you agreeing? Wow,” and a third said: “My besties and I do this, we do it to pay for our birthday dinners/presents + Christmases.”

For those looking for other alternative ways to save, apps can also help you save money to help beat the cost of living crunch.
