‘I sold designer bag on Vinted and caught scamming customer red handed’

By staff28 August 2025No Comments3 Mins Read

When a woman was trying to sell her authentic Coach bag for a bargain price of £150, one woman tried to take advantage of her to secure herself a refund from Vinted

A woman shared that she was selling a designer bag on Vinted when a buyer tried to pull a fast one with her, but she was wise to this type of bad behaviour. Larz, who posts on TikTok as @larzldn.x, explained that she was trying to sell her authentic Coach bag as soon as possible, dropping the price to £150 for a speedy sale. She said it was “brand new” and she hadn’t got round to wearing it yet, but just “wanted it gone”.

Larz shared that the “retail price was close to £400”. When she uploaded it, she had offers undercutting her, but she wanted to wait for £150, as it was already a bargain.

“Before I even think about you buying the bag, I will always look at the profile,” Larz admitted, saying that she likes to know who she is selling to so she can try and work out whether they have good feedback and if they’re a reputable Vinted user.

One woman was interested in the bag – and the comments were “very much up and down” with her having around 3.5 stars out of a possible five for feedback.

Some alleged that they’d had smooth transactions with her, but others said that she was a “scammer”. However, before she’d had a chance to consider “blocking” the woman, she’d already purchased the bag.

Larz said that what the buyer did next was “wicked” but “funny,” admitting that it still has her “cackling to this day”.

She explained that before she sends anything, she’ll send a video of the inside of the bag as proof of its condition.

“So I took a video of the bag inside, I closed it […] so there was something clearly inside the parcel,” she explained.

Larz kept up communication with the buyer, letting her know that it was out for delivery, so to keep her eyes peeled, as the buyer said that she was excited to receive the bag.

But when the parcel was delivered, the buyer claimed that there was nothing in the parcel at all.

Larz said that she already “knew all these refund methods,” so she was aware of what the woman was doing when she was messaging her, so she asked her to send a picture of the alleged empty bag.

When responding, the woman made a “stupid” mistake. She sent a picture with the Coach bag sitting up in the background. Busted!

The Vinted seller said: “I was like, babe, the bag’s in the back, why are you trying to lie?”

The woman then replied: “Oh, that’s where my man put it, ha ha ha ha. I didn’t know”.

Larz continued: “I was so confused. I was like, why are you trying to lie into a lie? You’ve been caught red-handed”.

Thankfully, Larz got her money in the end and there was no further trouble. Just make sure you are as cautious as her if you are selling your items online!
