A woman was left in tears after she was left with ‘offensive’ nails that she had to pay more than £50 for – but was too awkward to ask for a refund
A woman was left “sobbing” in her car after spending more than £50 on her nails – only for it to be a manicure disaster.
Fighting back tears, she confessed the handiwork of the nail technician left her gutted, yet she awkwardly still left a tip despite her disappointment.
In a humorous twist to her sorrowful tale shared online, she quipped that she would be in tears over it for the “next six years” explaining how “really distraught” she felt and that the nightmare was anything but “funny”.
On TikTok, Kaylyn Hill revealed that she believed she had done her homework when picking the nail specialist, only to be left aghast by the shoddy outcome.
She said that examples of the nail tech’s past work “looked great”, thinking this meant she’d get the perfect manicure. Hill even provided an inspiration photo to guide her and was assured by the nail artist that “she could do it”.
Bubbling with irritation, Hill ranted about the appalling state of her freshly done nails, which set her back $70 (£53), as she displayed her lumpy extensions with oversized “Crayola” like tips.
She’d also requested a chrome finish, which was absent. Adding to the dismay, the length was surprisingly “short” compared to the lengthy claws depicted in her reference image.
Upon zooming in, her nails were shockingly uneven, to the point where adhesive residue remained visible on her thumb, leading to a collective online gasp at the sight.
“So hopefully that explains why I’m sobbing”, she said, “And you might ask why did I pay for them.”
Kaylyn went on to describe how confrontation wasn’t her forte, which is why she didn’t want to cause a scene.
She declared her intention to “rip them off”, adamantly stating she would “ever” get her nails done again.
Some viewers were puzzled about what the fuss was over, with one commenter expressing her “concern” for those who couldn’t spot the problem.
“Why are the tips so big?!”, another blasted, while someone else labelled the nails as “offensive”.
One woman commented, “Oh babes. The best thing I ever did was start being absolutely feral about my nails. Every single step…don’t like it? I’m saying something IMMEDIATELY. Nope.”
