Btootos A90 Pro True Wireless Earbuds have been reduced to just £19.99 in the Amazon Prime Day sale, and those who spot the online voucher can take the checkout price to just above £17 with a 10% code

Finding a pair of high-quality wireless earphones can be a challenging task if you’re on a budget, as poor sound, low quality and an uncomfortable fit are usually associated with cheaper pairs. As Black Friday discounts start to dwindle this weeked a pair of budget Amazon earphones I’ve used for years is now a lot cheaper to buy.

The Btootos A90 Pro True Wireless Earbuds have currently been reduced to just £19.98 in the sale, a price which may seem too good to be true, but after using this pair for over a year, I’d encourage people to try these before spending hundreds on a high-end branded pair.

They’ll never be able compete with the likes of Galaxy Buds, Pixel Buds, Bose headphones, or Apple’s newest AirPods Pro 4 -and by no means am I trying to say that – but for less than £20 I have found these to be a bargain, perfectly suited for basic listening. And the sound quality has been surprisingly good, considering.

I first reviewed the pair in October last year, and you can ready about my first thoughts here. The Btootos A90 True Wireless Earbuds are an ideal choice for casual listening, targeting users who desire good sound quality, comfort and wireless charging. I’ve worn these while working from home and travelling on the tube and long-haul flights when I haven’t wanted to take my Bose headphones with me.

The quality significantly exceeds the price, too, as I highlighted in my first review: “While they’ll never completely outperform the latest AirPods 3 adaptive EQ or spatial audio support, there’s a minimal difference when it comes to battery life and comfort.

“Equipped with the latest Bluetooth 5.3, connecting to a smartphone is pretty seamless and after the first time, there’s no need to fiddle around in your device settings, all you have to do is open up the charging case and you’ll hear the buds connect. These features are why I’d urge anyone to add a pair to their basket”, if budget is on your mind that is.

The earphones managed to drown out all surrounding sounds – which has since come in handy on busy commutes into London. The only time I found this feature less appealing is when you want to have an ear out for surrounding noise – if you’re on your own at night, for example.

As I said: “The earphones blocked out all of the surrounding noise, literally everything, I couldn’t even hear myself type. It’s what I’ll go as far to say is a ‘marmite’ feature you’re either going to love it or not be so keen. The only time I’d say this wasn’t for me is when I went on a walk as it completely blocked out the sound of approaching traffic.”

This is where more expensive models have an edge over the £20 Btootos model, as they allow you to adjust the noise cancellation levels. For instance, Apple’s AirPods, AirPod Pros and AirPods Max come with a ‘transparency mode’, which lets you control how much outside noise you want to hear.

By no means am I an earphone expert but I have recently built a passion for finding suitable pairs for a fraction of the cost – in a bid to show that oyu don’t always need to spend hundreds to get a decent pair. Which is why I’d also recommend the Majority Audio Tru Bio Wireless buds also available at Amazon this Black Friday weekend – now £27.95.

If you do have your heart set on the likes of Apple AirPods then EE’s newest listing is one we’d recommend, as the AirPod Pro4 are reduced to £119.
