A food reviewer made a video of herself trying every single new food item in Tesco’s newest limited edition range in their meal deals, but she wasn’t left impressed by any of the items
A woman took it upon herself to try every new item in Tesco’s limited edition meal deal range, which include 13 new items of sandwiches, wraps, and snacks.
TikTok creator Becca, known online as BeccaEatsEverything, took to the social media platform to share her review of all the new limited edition Tesco meal deal items.
The range includes 13 new items – including sandwiches, wraps, pastas, and snacks for shoppers to try something new. However, Becca was left less than impressed and took to TikTok to share her thoughts.
She decided to rank the food items from worst to best – and in last place was the chicken poppers snack with tomato ketchup. Making a face after her first bite, Becca said: “Oh God no! There’s no chicken in that, that is just dust,” before giving it a score of minus one out of ten.
Next up on her list was the piri piri chicken salad, which didn’t do much better as Becca claimed the rice was ‘inedible’, and the sauce was too vinegary for her taste, which earned it a score of zero out of ten.
In 11th place was the breakfast half and half sandwich, with one half being sausage and brown sauce and the other half being bacon and ketchup. “Actually horrible,” she said after tasting both halves. “I’m gonna give this a one out of ten.”
“Taking the tenth place spot we have the hog roast style sausage roll,” Becca announced. “It’s just pastry with this horrible sausage meat. There’s a slight sweetness from like apple I think it is in the background. But I would not buy that again. That’s a two out of ten.”
Next on her list was the chicken kiev style wrap, scoring a two out of ten, the Korean BBQ style chicken & bacon wrap scoring three out of ten, and in seventh place the pepperoni pizza style sub also scoring a three out of ten.
“In at number six, we have the nice sounding ham and cheddar cheese wrap,” Becca said. “Just confused. I like the ham, I don’t mind the cream cheese, but the tomato relish… it doesn’t go, it’s too sweet. It’s just weird. That’s a four out of ten.”
Getting into the top five best products in the range, the tandoori style chicken rice bowl just about makes the cut with a score of 4.5 out of ten. “If you’re looking for flavour here, you are not going to find it,” she said. “The only thing that’s really got any flavour is this [mint] dip.”
She continued: “Next up for more disappointment is the chicken and chorizo pasta”. The chicken was tender and had a very slight spiciness from the sausage. However, she argued it had a ‘strange’ aftertaste, which bumped the score down a bit to five out of ten.
In third place was the American style half and half wrap, with one half of ranch chicken and one half buffalo chicken, which also scored a five out of ten.
It was then followed by the mini savoury egg snack – coming in second place with a slightly higher score of five and a half out of ten.
“And then finally, coming in first, with hopefully a good score this torturous video is the honey ham with emmental cheese sandwich,” she announced. “This is definitely the most enjoyable one. Reason being there’s nothing in there that’s bad.”
She praised the spiced mayonnaise and the crunch that came from the pickled cabbage. However, she claimed the coleslaw was too strong in flavour and overpowered the ham and cheese.
“I am still gonna give that a seven out of ten, because it’s quite an enjoyable sandwich to eat, but I think there are things that could be massively improved,” she said.
Even though Becca wasn’t keen on the new offerings from Tesco, other love the meal deal update and have taken to Instagram to share their thoughts. One gushed: “Wow.” Another said: “Iconic.” And a third added: “I love Tesco food and drink.”
