Victoria Beckham has a very strict diet and exercise regime which has helped her maintain her slim figure. But could you stick to it? One woman tried it for 24 hours to find out
Fashionista and Spice Girls star Victoria Beckham looks great at 50-years-old – and works hard to maintain her toned physique.
As well as exercising regularly, Posh Spice seems to be pretty strict with her diet. Her approach seems to be very effective – but some people say it sounds rather “depressing”.
So in a bid to see if this is actually the case, Cecilia Fondacci gave the regime a go for 24 hours. On her Instagram page, the foodie announced: “Eating like a celebrity challenge day 39/60: Victoria Beckham.” Here’s how it went…
What does Victoria Beckham eat?
David Beckham, revealed on the River Cafe Table 4 podcast that his wife has been eating the same meal for a quarter of a century. The ex-England footballer shared: “Since I met her she only eats grilled fish, steamed vegetables. She will very rarely deviate from that.”
Here’s what else she has…
- High protein – Victoria’s diet includes foods like fish and lean meats. She has mentioned that she eats a lot of salmon and other fatty fish, which are rich in omega-3 fatty acids.
- Vegetables and greens – She consumes plenty of vegetables and greens as part of her meals. These foods are nutrient-dense and provide her body with essential vitamins and minerals.
- Grilled or steamed foods – She avoids fried or overly processed foods and typically opts for grilled or steamed preparation methods to keep her meals light and healthy.
- Low carb – Her diet is reportedly low-carb, especially refined carbohydrates like bread and pasta. She focuses on keeping her meals balanced without loading up on starchy foods.
- No sugar – She steers clear of sugar and does not include it in her diet, emphasising clean and pure ingredients.
- Healthy fats – Victoria incorporates healthy fats such as avocado, nuts, and seeds into her diet to support her overall wellness.
- Supplements and hydration – Victoria is reportedly diligent about hydration and taking supplements to support her health, including apple cider vinegar, vitamins, and collagen supplements.
- Occasional indulgence – Although she is extremely disciplined, Victoria has mentioned some indulgences. For instance, she enjoys red wine and sometimes has a piece of dark chocolate.
How did Cecilia fare on the diet?
Cecilia kicked off her day by squeezing a fresh lemon into a glass, topping it up with hot water and dropping in the lemon slice. For breakfast, she toasted granary brown bread and topped it with chopped avocado slices, garnishing the dish with salt, lemon, and coriander.
Come lunchtime, she steamed a mix of courgette, carrot, and three leeks while preparing a salmon fillet garnished with dill and two lemon wedges in an air fryer. The meal was served with the steamed vegetables, salmon and half an avocado on a plate.
For dinner, Cecilia emulated Victoria Beckham’s diet by chopping up broccoli into small pieces and steaming it along with more leeks and courgette. She then boiled a white fish and served everything up with another half avocado.
While Cecilia seemed to nail the diet, some weren’t impressed with the “depressing” meals inspired by Victoria. One said: “I’d be starving.” And another joked: “I’d rather be fat.”
