‘I try endless skincare as a beauty writer, but this line has a permanent spot in my routine’

As a beauty writer, I’m constantly rotating through new skincare launches. Between testing serums, masks and moisturisers to help narrow down the best buys for your buck, I rarely stick with one range for long.

But now and then, a collection lands on my desk that actually earns a permanent spot in my routine. Case in point: Laneige’s Bouncy & Firm range, which I’ve just restocked for the third time.

Laneige, perhaps best known for its cult-favourite Lip Sleeping Masks, launched the Bouncy & Firm line earlier this year with four products designed to plump, revitalise and hydrate tired skin: a serum, sleeping mask, eye sleeping mask and a lip sleeping mask.

They arrived in March, and five months on, I’m still reaching for every one of them – especially the Bouncy & Firm Eye Sleeping Mask (£28). My under-eye area is notoriously sensitive, and finding an eye product that doesn’t sting, itch, or leave me looking worse for wear is rare.

In fact, I can’t recall ever repurchasing one – until now. The eye mask is a total game changer, with a cooling gel-like texture that glides on smoothly and instantly de-puffs and soothes. It feels indulgent to apply, like a chilled spa moment before bed, and it’s never caused any irritation, even after months of nightly use.

This eye sleeping mask works hard to hydrates, plumps and firms delicate skin.

For those who also suffer from irritation like me, there are a few different eye creams that cater to sensitive skin. Clinique’s Moisture Surge™ Eye 96-Hour Hydro-Filler Concentrate (£35) is dermatologist and allergy tested, as well as being 100% fragrance free.

Otherwise, CeraVe’s Eye Repair Cream (£10.15) is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive and eczema-prone skin. This review reads: “Feels great and doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin. I’ve been told several times my under eyes look much better, but I think it’s more of a plumping effect rather than correcting the discolouration itself.”

The rest of the Laneige range deserves a shout, too. The Sleeping Mask (£32) feels rich yet breathable on my skin, locking moisture without feeling heavy or greasy. The Lip Mask (£18.40) – a sister to Laneige’s viral original – is just as nourishing, cushioning my lips overnight and leaving them soft by morning.

As for the Bouncy & Firm Serum (£39), I’m on the fence. It sinks in quickly and integrates well with other products, but I haven’t noticed a significant improvement in my skin since incorporating it into my routine. That said, it may be one of those slow-burn heroes that shines over time, so I’m not ruling it out just yet, especially as I only introduced it into my regime a month ago.

Overall, the Bouncy & Firm range delivers on its promise, and the fact that I’ve topped up speaks for itself. In a sea of constantly changing beauty launches, that’s no small feat.
