A woman has slammed her ‘entitled’ auntie for what she did to her baby daughter without her permission while she turned her back for a second to get a shower – and it’s ruined their relationship
A woman has blasted her ‘entitled’ auntie for piercing her three-month-old daughter’s ears behind her back. Many people deal with entitled family members, and the 26-year-old explained how her auntie has been “overbearing” since her daughter’s birth – wanting to be involved in everything. But she never expected her auntie to go as far as piercing her daughter’s ears without her permission – but that’s exactly what happened.
She said on Reddit: “We’ve been really cautious about visitors, basic hygiene, no kissing, you know the drill. My aunt (my mum’s sister) came to visit last weekend. She’s always been… overbearing. She kept talking about how ‘cute’ my baby would look with earrings.
“I brushed it off and said, ‘We’re not doing piercings for a while. Maybe when she’s older and can choose’.
“Apparently ‘no’ meant ‘ask forgiveness, not permission’.”
She left her baby with her mum and auntie while she showered – but her ‘me time’ was cut short when she heard her baby crying in pain.
She added: “When I came out, my daughter was crying, and I saw the tiniest glint of gold on her earlobe. My aunt proudly said, ‘Surprise! I used my friend’s gun kit. She barely felt a thing’.
“I lost it. I told her she had no right. My mum was horrified too, she had no idea this was going to happen.

“We took my daughter to urgent care just to make sure there was no infection. I called my aunt the next day and told her she’s not allowed near us for the foreseeable future.
“She cried to my mum about how ‘kids these days are so dramatic’ and that she was ‘trying to bond with her niece’. No. You violated my child’s body without consent. That’s not bonding. That’s assault.”
Commenting on her post, one user said: “Let mum know that your aunt should consider herself lucky that you don’t file charges and that she may not be allowed near your child until she is old enough to fight back.”
Another user added: “Please call the police. This is assault. And she did not have your permission so there’s all kinds of legal issues there.”
A third user said: “This sounds premeditated. The aunt kept talking about earrings and – surprise surprise – she has a gun kit from a friend in her purse. How coincidental…”
One more user added: “How did she do that with your mum there? Didn’t she clean the earlobes off first?
“Your aunt should be permanently banned from anywhere you are ever going to be with your daughter. Your mum needs to back you up.”
