Videos from Spanish island holiday hotspot Ibiza show dramatic flooding, with streets turning into rushing torrents and water pouring through the roof of Ibiza Airport

A British influencer who moved to Ibiza has been left devastated after heavy rains caused her stunning property to flood.

Videos from the Spanish island reveal dramatic flooding, with streets turning into rushing torrents and water pouring through the roof of Ibiza Airport.

Local media reported a “cascade of rain” inside the airport, where the security check area was flooded due to continuous, heavy leaks that completely submerged the space.

The entire island remains under a red warning for heavy rainfall until 4pm local time.

Stella Tzortzi, who lives on a farm on the Spanish party island, shared updates of the devastation the rain has caused out on the streets – as well as in her home.

“So my house is flooded and if you’re an Ibiza then you’ll know what the f**k is going on,” she told her 353,000 TikTok followers.

“It doesn’t even look that bad but like it is completely flooded. So there’s a leak in the roof and this is what we’re just catching it with. There’s another leak here. And this, this is what the outside looks like and like I’m just going to collect some pictures of what Ibiza looks like right now.

“But this is actually what it looks like, and there’s like bins floating and it is just, this was last night and I actually can’t believe it.”

The 26-year-old, from London, also shares her property with Sheila the pig, who was locked in her pen with water quickly rising.

The influencer was worried Sheila would soon be out of her depth. However, she had a positive update her followers, saying: “Landlord to the rescue I’ll keep you updated xxx.”

In the Balearic Islands, emergency services responded to 61 separate incidents, with the majority occurring on Ibiza. Several roads across the islands were closed, and a school in the lively party town of San Antonio was evacuated for safety reasons.

Basements and garages experienced severe flooding, and some access routes to the main airport were also shut down. Floodwaters transformed streets into rushing rivers, uprooting trees and causing damage to vehicles.

Firefighters are working to rescue people trapped in vehicles and homes, said the local authority in Ibiza. It also said that that roads going from Sant Antoni and Santa Eulària are closed, as well as the E-10.

In case of an emergency, people are being told to call 112, while the fire service is said to be inundated with requests for help. People are urged to exercise extreme caution, avoid unnecessary travel, and heed official warnings.

In Sueca, footage captured the town submerged under stagnant water once the rain had eased.

Meanwhile, a video from south-eastern Murcia shows a pedestrian being carried away by a strong current of muddy floodwater along the road.
