Iceland Foods has launched a Mega Deal Event across the online food shop’s frozen heroes section, with a three for £10 mix and match offer on a selection of chicken goods. There are a number of easy to cook options available so shoppers can stock up the freezer for less and with a variation of items to choose from, the whole household can be kept happy.

Now on sale for £3.34 each, a family-favourite are the Sweet Chilli Sauce Chicken Thigh Bites. They take 14 minutes to cook from frozen in an air fryer, or 25 minutes in an oven, and are perfect for serving alongside rice. Those that aren’t keen on spice might want to opt for the Breaded Chicken Schnitzels – shoppers get four in a packet, with the deal bringing them down to 84 pence each.

Other options include Cheese Tang Crunchy Coated Chicken Strips, Tikka Chicken Skewers, Southern Fried Chicken Fries, Cheese and Ham Chicken Cordon Bleu and more. Home cooks catering to large numbers might be interested in the Breaded Chicken Smileys Burgers pack of 10 – the deal means each burger comes in at 33 pence.

Iceland’s 3 for £10 Mega Deal Event runs until Monday, September 29, with shoppers able to feed the family for less for an entire month. The brand states that research conducted by Sheffield Hallam University suggested that switching to frozen food can reduce household food bills by as much as £250 a year. The mix and match offer allows consumers to try and taste a number of different items on offer and as they are frozen, can be stocked up now and eaten later.

Shoppers who have already tried the Cajun Chicken Skewers say they are ‘so succulent and plenty of meat’. One person said the flavour is so tasty they ‘have ordered another three packets today they are that good’. Another fan wrote: “Tasty, healthy and very convenient. Have tried all the different flavours. Can recommend them all.”

The chicken thighs are included in the Iceland offer.

However, they are not for everyone and a few people found them ‘very spicy’. Someone shared: “Lovely chicken and this could make a really nice meal, but this is much too spicy, which ruined it for us.”

The Sweet & Sour Sauce Chicken Thigh Bites are great for shoppers after a “fake-away” that is healthier and more affordable. While some said the sauce “could have been a bit stickier”, others fed back they would “definitely buy again” as they are “very tasty”.

Alternatively, those with a Tesco Clubcard can pick up 4 selected frozen products for £5 on the food retailer’s website. Choices include Birds Eye Chicken Burgers, Birds Eye Hot and Spicy Chicken and Birds Eye Chicken Fingers. At Morrisons, shoppers can also buy four frozen products for £5 with Birds Eye Chicken Quarter Pounders, Battered Nuggets and Quorn Chicken Style Pieces included.

Iceland was named the UK’s Best Online Supermarket in a survey by consumer champion Which? in 2022 and 2024. Reviews for Iceland’s food delivery service can be found at Trustpilot. One person left five stars, writing: “Always a great experience shopping at Iceland. Prices are unbeatable, and the same-day delivery service has saved my bacon more than once.”

A second shopper shared: “Forget 5 stars, more like 10 stars – first time I ordered today with them, everything I ordered turned up, prices good, plus no delivery charge. From start to finish, excellent service, highly recommended.”

Talking about home delivery, a few reviewers mentioned that deliveries are bagged at a small charge. With one noting their delivery used alot of plastic bags, stating: “Iceland is great, but I end up with dozens of carrier bags. If they did the basket scheme like other shops, it would be much better for home deliveries.”

However, the free delivery service is a winning feature for others. A shopper said: “Not only is there a substantial range of products available around the £1 mark, but also delivery is free, which shows how much of a mark-up other companies have.”

Iceland offer free next day delivery when spending over £40, plus same day delivery from £2. Delivery slots are available until 9pm so those who won’t be home during the day can still benefit.
