A Virgin Australia crew member has shown on a TikTok video a “special” button that is hidden on arm rests and will ensure that your flight it a lot more comfortable
Travellers have been shown a “special” button on your seat that will make your flight more comfortable.
A flight attendant has demonstrated how you can increase your amount of space even if you are sitting in an aisle seat by moving the arm rest.
Many of us will be used to sitting in cramped spaces on flights for several hours that can lead to back pain and stiffness in your legs. But a Virgin Australia crew member has shown how you can actually make some more space for yourself by shifting the arm rest.
In a TikTok video it shows the air hostess struggling out of an aisle seat and then demonstrating how easy it is to move around by a clicking a button at the back of the arm rest which raises it up.
In the video captions state: “Have you ever struggled with the aisle seat arm rest? Struggle more with this seat hack! Press this special button and lift the arm rest. Try this out on your next flight.”
The button can only be seen when the arm rest is lifted back after being pressed and so not only is it easier for you to get in and out of your seat, but you can also move around while sitting to settle in a more comfortable position and maybe get some sleep.
The lever also allows you to move your seat back, and so creating even more space. “This is for people who didn’t know that the aisle seat armrest moves too, it’s like this on most aircraft types,” the crew member demonstrated on TikTok.
And many people have many people have commented on how grateful they are for the video. “Thank you I can undo this and relax in the air,” said one person. While Virgin Australia replied: “It’s a life changing hack, that’s for sure” when another person wrote: “I am going to try because my flight is after three days with Emirates.”
Another comment stated: “More people need to see this” while a further said: “Does that work on the arm rests by the window?” And Virgin Australia replied: “Give it a go next time you’re flying!”
