Shark has knocked hundreds off its vacuum cleaner range, with some models now £300 off
As Black Friday rolls round once again, shoppers are scouring the web for the best deals on tech. Black Friday may not be until the end of the month, but Shark’s Black Friday sale is already well underway, with some hefty discounts up for grabs across its vacuum cleaner range.
The brand is offering £300 off select models, with price cuts on cordless vacuums, steam mops and robot vacuums, many of which are cheaper alternatives to rival brands like Dyson. I’ve covered three Black Fridays and countless vacuum cleaner deals in my time, so I know a good deal when I see one.
Shark offers a range of models to suit any need and budget, but there are so many to choose from that it can be tricky to know what’s what.
This is why I’ve been sifting through the brand’s entire Black Friday collection and hand-picked five of my favourites. Here are five of my top Black Friday deals from Shark.
Shark Stratos Anti Hair Wrap Plus Cordless Vacuum – £199.99 (was £399.99)
Shark says the Stratos Anti Hair Wrap Plus delivers the brand’s ‘best ever hair pick-up’, and now it’s half price. This model is ideal for homes with pets as it features Shark’s signature anti-hair wrap plus technology, which prevents tangles while it cleans.
It also features ‘Clean Sense IQ’, which automatically adjusts the suction power to remove up to 50% more dirt, according to Shark. The Stratos boasts a 60-minute battery life and includes Anti-Odour Technology to protect against bad smells inside the vacuum.
This model is also favoured by ‘cleanfluencer’ Mrs Hinch – aka Sophie Hinchliffe – but some buyers have found it ‘clunky’. Elsewhere, shoppers can find the same deal at Amazon.
Shark Deluxe Steam and Scrub Automatic Steam Mop – £119.99 (was £179.99)
For cleaning hard floors, consider the Shark Deluxe Steam and Scrub Automatic Steam Mop with Steam Blaster, the brand’s best-selling steam mop. Designed to gently scrub and sanitise sealed hard floors, it’s ideal for tackling stains in the kitchen and targets dirt with a ‘powerful’ blast of steam.
Using water alone without any chemicals, it can remove dust, residue, grease, grime and bacteria with its pads moving at 150 rotations per minute. It features three cleaning modes to suit the job at hand and comes with six cleaning pads.
One glowing review says the Shark ‘glides across the floor’ and does an ‘excellent job’ of cleaning white floor tiles, but some have said it doesn’t get into the grout between some tiles. For a two-in-one device, Hoover is offering its HF4 Hydro Cordless Vacuum Cleaner and Mop for £189 (was £319), which comes with a mop attachment.
Shark PowerDetect Cordless Pet Vacuum Cleaner – £249.99 (was £449.99)
Shark has launched a new limited edition range of vacuum cleaners, which includes this PowerDetect Cordless Pet model. As well as £200 off, this deal comes with six accessories, including a free car detailing kit.
According to the brand, this delivers Shark’s ‘most powerful’ cordless suction, while its PowerFins Detect function optimises the performance when it detects dirt, edges, corners and floor type. As well as Anti Hair Wrap technology, this model works in both forward and reverse, with a long-lasting 70-minute runtime.
This beats the 60-minute runtime of rivals like the Dyson V11 Extra (£348). Shoppers have awarded the Shark PowerDetect Cordless Pet an impressive 4.8-star rating, hailing it as ‘lightweight, brilliant with hair and as powerful as a corded’.
Not everyone agrees, though, as one buyer found it ‘heavier’ than expected.
Shark StainForce Cordless Stain-Destroying Spot Cleaner – £129.99 (was £174.99)
For households constantly dealing with muddy shoeprints, dirty paws or clumsy kids, the Shark StainForce Cordless Stain-Destroying Spot Cleaner may be just the ticket. The handheld gadget is designed to remove spills and stains such as oil, dirt, grime, wine and coffee, whether they’re fresh or set in.
It uses Shark’s own formulas, which mix and activate on contact to break down stains on carpets, area rugs, stairs, upholstery or car interiors. However, one downside is that it’s not designed for cleaning wool.
While it already comes with two extra refills, Shark is offering 25% off the solution at checkout. An alternative is the Vax SpotWash Home Pet-Design Spot Cleaner, reduced from £199.99 to £118 at Amazon, but this corded device is larger and doesn’t offer the freedom of the cordless Shark.
Shark PowerDetect 2-in-1 Robot Vacuum and Mop – £399.99 (was £699.99)
Robot vacuum cleaners are a great time-saving device as they clean so buyers don’t have to, and while this option is towards the pricier end of Shark’s deals, it’s a huge £300 off the original price. As the name suggests, the multi-functional Shark PowerDetect NeverTouch 2-in-1 Self-Empty and Self-Refill Robot Vacuum and Mop serves as both a vacuum cleaner and a mop.
This means it can clean a range of floor types before returning to its charging base to automatically empty dirt and refill with clean water. The independent gadget can move over obstacles and across thresholds to avoid getting stuck, using the 360° LiDAR vision to map the home.
Buyers have praised the Shark for making ‘a huge difference’ to their cleaning workload, while others have said the mapping ‘can be hard to get right’ at first. Despite its higher price tag, it’s more affordable than Dyson’s 360 Vis Nav robot vacuum cleaner, even while it’s reduced from £1,199.99 to £649.
