Apple has just announced the date of its next WWDC Developers Conference and it could offer the first look at big updates for the iPhone.

If you love your iPhone and want to know what big new features are coming this year, mark June 9th on your calendar. Apple has just confirmed that its next WWDC Developers Conference will get underway on that date and there could be plenty of exciting news updates announced on stage at Apple Park in Cupertino.

Although WWDC is mainly aimed at software developers trying to create new apps and services, Apple always uses this major event to showcase its upcoming iOS, macOS, watchOS and iPadOS upgrades.

That means users of popular gadgets such as the iPhone and Apple Watch will get their first glimpse of what free software changes are coming later in the year.

For example, last year, Apple revealed its Apple Intelligence update for the very first time, with consumers getting a glimpse of Genmojis and Clean Up, which automatically edits photos.

iOS 18 was also showcased last year with changes such as new ways to customise the home screen as well as updates to the Photos app, messages and passwords.

There’s no word on what will be unveiled in June but it seems certain we will get our first look at iOS 19. In previous years, Apple has also shown off new hardware including MacBooks so watch this space if you love a gadget.

WWDC25 will begin on June 9 and run until June 13. It will be open to software developers who can apply to head to California in person.

Those developers attending will not only hear all of the latest news and updates live at the Apple Park HQ in Cupertino but also get time with Apple’s experts to help improve their apps and software.

Apple says that Space will be limited; details on how to apply to attend can be found on the WWDC25 website.

“We’re excited to mark another incredible year of WWDC with our global developer community,” said Susan Prescott, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations. “We can’t wait to share the latest tools and technologies that will empower developers and help them continue to innovate.”
