Influencer and TV personality Rolling Ray, real name Raymond Harper, has died aged 28 days before his birthday
Internet personality Rolling Ray has died at the age of 28, his heartbroken mother has announced. The influencer, real name Raymond Harper, passed away days before his birthday as his mum took to Facebook to pay tribute to him and thank friends and family for their support during the difficult time.
“It is with a heavy, heavy heart that I let you know that my son Ray Ray (@Iamrollingray) has gone home to be with the Lord,” she wrote in the post shared with friends. “I thank everyone who has called or texted. This is going to be a long road.” Rolling Ray called himself the “most famous boy inna wheelchair” on social media.
On Instagram, he had almost 450,000 followers and was known for producing skits and making music. He also appeared on MTV’s Catfish Trolls, and Bobby I Love You, Purrr.

Fans rushed to social media to share their shock and heartbreak over his death, with one user writing on X/Twitter: “They done took rollingray, I’m devastated,” while another wrote: “Today is not real, not my mf friend bruah….@DMVMOSTFAMOUS LIKE WHAT THE FUCK!!!!! IM FUCKING DONE FOR THE YEAR! Rest in heavenly peace.”
One wrote: “Damn. I tried to wait this one out, praying it was another rumour. Rest in Peace to the most famous boy in a wheelchair.
“We came together and showed the world how two different people from 2 separate paths in life can put hate aside and create magic.
“You are loved all over the world, and you will be missed dearly. Spread your wings and fly my iconic friend Rolling Ray.”
Screenwriter Angel Williams posted: “So heart broken. Omg was just talking to You a few weeks ago. You was always rooting for me. Even gave you sneak peeks of my scripts because you loved them so bad!
“You couldn’t wait to film with me. So upset we didn’t get that opportunity yet thankful I gained a real friend.
“You was so filled with life. Even when you was sick, you smiled, laughed and joked….. Rest in peace. sleep easy Raynell . Sending love and condolences to your family and loved ones. Forever Rolling Ray.”
A few weeks before his shock death, Ray was taken to the hospital due to ill health. The star went viral on social media for his outspoken and hilarious video where he discussed lifestyle, relationships and pop culture.
His participation during the Black Lives Matter protests in Washington D.C. sitting in a wheelchair made him even more famous.
