Jessie J has found her happily ever after with her boyfriend Chanan Colman, but prior to their relationship, the musician dated a very famous Hollywood star
Jessie J has had a colourful love life since she burst onto the music scene, and she’s also dated a huge Hollywood icon. The chart-topping musician, 37, recently confirmed she had been diagnosed with the early stages of breast cancer.
In recent weeks, Jessie has been keeping her diagnosis to herself while being “in and out of tests” following her discovery. The singer spoke directly to fans as she said she was holding onto the fact that her diagnosis was “early.”
Although she has been busy with work, Jessie later added that she was gearing up to take some time out of her career in order to undergo surgery in the coming weeks to tackle the disease.
Although she has kept her diagnosis to herself for the past nine weeks, she said she wanted to show solidarity to those who are also battling the condition by going public with her own diagnosis. Here, we take a look at some of Jessie’s relationships over the years and her very famous ex-boyfriend.
Chanan Safir Colman
Jessie and basketballer Chanan first met in 2021 but kept their relationship relatively low-key until they were pictured together in Los Angeles in April 2022. They went on to confirm their relationship while holidaying on Sir Richard Branson’s Necker Island. Jessie shared a snap of the pair, with Chanan’s arm wrapped around her waist.
Although she tends to keep her life relatively private, Jessie has previously given an insight into their relationship. The couple went on to welcome their son, Sky, in May 2023, and it appears that Chanan is a very hands-on dad.
Speaking to People Magazine, she said: “He has exceeded my expectations as a father beyond my imagination. I’m so grateful that he is so present and just so willing to adapt around obviously my career.” But during her interview in May this year, she ruled out getting married any time soon.
“We talk about it all the time, and we laugh about it all the time, and I’m sure we will, but we’re not in any rush,” she said, before adding: “I’ve always said that I’m not too fussed about getting married, and some people get really funny about that, but it’s my own preference.”
Max Pham Ngyen
Jessie confirmed her relationship with dancer Max in March 2021. She took to social media to share previously unseen snaps of the couple with her online followers. However, the couple went on to split in October of the same year, just seven months after going public with their relationship.
Dancer Max had worked with the likes of Ariana Grande, Justin Timberlake and Olly Murs.
Channing Tatum
In October 2018, it was rumoured that Jessie was dating Magic Mike legend Channing Tatum. The pair were spotted on a mini golf date in Los Angeles. Prior to this, Channing was also seen attending one of Jessie’s concerts in Seattle. Their relationship came just months after Tatum split from his ex-wife, Jenna Dewan.
After going public with their relationship, they never shied away from sharing snaps with one another. One image posted by Channing showed the singer planting a kiss on the actor’s chin. But their relationship became quite turbulent, and they dated on and off for two years.
They split in April 2020 before later rekindling their romance. Sadly, though, they split for the final time in October 2020.
Luke James
Jessie was head over heels in love with Luke, and the pair dated for almost a year. They went public with their relationship in November 2014, and Jessie didn’t shy away from discussing her beau, who had written songs for Keri Hilson, Britney Spears and Chris Brown.
Speaking on Loose Women, she said of their relationship: “He’s an artist from New Orleans. I met him in New York, and he’s amazing. He’s a singer-songwriter. It was in the papers that he’s a rapper – he’s not a rapper, he’s a singer. He’s incredible, I’m really happy.”
However, just shy of a year later, the couple split. Sources claimed that there had been fears Luke wasn’t ready to commit to the relationship. At the time, a source said: “Jessie fell hard for Luke, but over the summer she started having doubts.”
Just months before their split, Jessie said she was hoping to start a family.
Kenny Hamilton
It was reported that Jessie had a brief relationship with Justin Bieber’s former bodyguard, Kenny Hamilton. Reports about their romance emerged in 2012, but the details remain unclear.
Although they kept their relationship relatively low-key, it was claimed they went their separate ways in the same year.
