Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi purchased a home in the Cotswolds shortly after welcoming their first child, and it’s where they will soon welcome their second
Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, who have welcomed their second child together, live in a charming Cotswolds village.
On Wednesday, 29 January, the royal couple joyfully announced the arrival of their daughter, Athena, who was born several weeks prematurely but was said to be doing well. This is their second child together, having welcomed their daughter, Sienna, in September 2021, while Edoardo also has a son called Wolfie from a previous relationship. Together, the family live in a beautiful £3.5 million farmhouse boasting six bedrooms and ample space, complete with a converted guesthouse for when the grandparents visit.
The property also features an outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts, a six-foot security gate, and a ‘party barn’. Reports suggest that the ‘party barn’, converted from another outbuilding, is the ideal place for dancing when they host friends and family. The house is situated in a picturesque part of the Cotswolds, surrounded by greenery.
Edoardo’s parents live nearby, making them available to help care for the couple’s children, especially now with their newborn daughter. Additionally, Beatrice’s cousin Zara Tindall and her husband Mike Tindall, who have three children, Mia, Lena, and Lucas, are said to be neighbours, reports OK!
The couple reportedly live near Prince Harry’s close polo buddy, George Spencer-Churchill and his wife Camilla. As well as this they also have David and Victoria Beckham’s extravagant Cotswold home and Ellie Goulding’s residence as neighbours. Beatrice’s parents, Sarah, Duchess of York and Prince Andrew, reside less than two hours away at Royal Lodge in Windsor.
The princess, who is the eldest daughter of Sarah Ferguson and Andrew, married Italian businessman Edoardo, 38, in 2020. The pair announced the birth of their baby daughter on September 20, 2021 – two days after her arrival. This week, the couple revealed that they had welcomed their second child together. The royal baby will join big sister Sienna, three, and Beatrice’s stepson Wolfie, eight.
A statement from Buckingham Palace said: “Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their daughter, Athena Elizabeth Rose Mapelli Mozzi, born on Wednesday, 22nd January, at 12.57pm, at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London.
“The baby was born weighing four pounds and five ounces. Their Majesties The King and Queen and other members of the royal family have all been informed and are delighted with the news.”
Beatrice’s husband Edoardo posted a tribute to his new daughter, calling her “tiny and absolutely perfect”. He wrote on Instagram sharing a photograph of Athena wrapped in a blanket: “Athena Elizabeth Rose Mapelli Mozzi. We welcomed baby Athena into our lives last week. She is tiny and absolutely perfect. We are all (including Wolfie and Sienna) already completely besotted with her. Our hearts are overflowing with love for you, baby Athena.
“A massive thank you from my wife and I goes out to all the wonderful staff at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital for their exceptional care and support during this incredibly special time.”
