The 2025 Boomtown festival “Chapter Four: Power of Now” is about to kick-off. Beyond being a major music celebration, the five-day affair is the “largest interactive theatre in the world”.
Boomtown might be the country’s trippiest, mind-bending festival, but it’s kept pretty meticulously under wraps. Beyond being a major genre-fluid music festival, Boomtown is known for its unique design, stages, characters and experiences grouped together into “themed districts”.
The 17th annual Boomtown, dubbed ‘Power of Now’ is set to take place between August 6 and August 10, 2025 at South Downs National Park. The 2025 line-up includes a mix of international stars and big names like Sean Paul, Sex Pistols and Rudimental, as well as infamous DJs Honey Dijon and Jyoty and literally hundreds of more acts.
The festival organisers have declared Boomtown “the largest interactive theatre in the world” and highly encourage attendees (aka Boomtown citizens) to “explore different worlds and ways of living” by taking on characters and engaging with the set pieces. It arrives just as a forecast reveals the exact date a 39C heat plume will scorch the UK.
This year’s festival boasts 12 main stages and over 50 hidden venues with more than 60,000 people are expected to attend. The 2025 Boomtown festival is already sold out, but resale tickets may become available through the festival’s Citizen-to-Citizen Ticket Marketplace.
Below is a snapshot of six of Boomtown’s themed districts.
