Introducing our free Scream Society newsletter for horror fanatics

A stylised logo of a black screaming silhouette on a lime green background with the text "scream society" in the bottom third of the picture.
Our latest newsletter Scream Society will bring you all things horror every week.

If you find your appetite for horror is rarely ever satiated, we’re launching a brand new newsletter that will silence those cravings.

Scream Society is a home for horror lovers, covering the genre across the worlds of film, TV and streaming. Whether you’re a casual enjoyer of full-time horror head, there will be something for you to enjoy.

Delivered weekly on a Friday morning (and in an ad-free environment), you’ll get first-person perspectives on the latest releases as well as a snapshot of what’s trending across social media so you never miss out on horror’s next big thing.

There will be plenty of exclusive content too, including interviews, curated recommendations for what to add to your watch list next as well as a calendar of upcoming releases.

What will be in Scream Society each week?

Each week you’ll be updated on the biggest and most interesting happenings in the horror world with a brief news digest. You can also expect a weekly note from the editor, a carefully selected film or TV recommendation and the lowdown on what’s hot on #HorrorTok right now.

You’ll always get a calendar of what’s coming out which spans cinema releases and streaming platforms. We’ll also be including places like BBC iPlayer, ITVX and Channel 4 where you can stream content for free.

If you make it to the end (and we hope you do) you’ll be treated to some clickable and interactive content that will end your week on a high.

How do I sign up to Scream Society?

Scream Society will be published on Substack, an independent platform with no ads, making for a cleaner reading experience than on many other websites.

You can read the newsletter via your desktop, on the Substack app, or simply from your email inbox once you’ve signed up.

Once subscribed, you can sit back and relax as the latest in horror drops in your inbox ready to scroll through at your leisure.

Who writes Scream Society?

Scream Society is brought to you by Samantha King, a long-time horror fan and film and TV editor. She fell in love with the genre after watching Child’s Play way too young and has been obsessed with it ever since.

Her taste in horror ranges from all-out slashers to the psychological, with her favourite films including Talk To Me, Terrifier and It Follows.
