I’ve been putting some of this year’s best Easter eggs to the test to see which ones I’ll be gifting people, and there was one in particular that my family couldn’t get enough of
Now we’re into April, it’s time to start thinking about the next big event happening – Easter. This year Easter Sunday will fall on April 20, and that means there’s only a couple of weeks left to pick up your Easter eggs for friends and family.
With so many different brands, flavours and designs out there to choose from it can be difficult to know which ones to gift – you can’t do a taste test first, after all – I decided to try out some amazing Easter eggs that are available this year. I know, I know; it’s a tough life! However after putting several to the test I’ve rounded up my five favourites that any loved one would be happy to receive – with my family deeming one in particular their favourite of them all.

If you want something indulgent that’s not going to break the bank, this truffle-filled Easter egg from Monty Bojangles is the perfect combination. The gift tin comes with six cocoa-dusted truffles and a large hollow milk chocolate egg, and tasted so rich and decadent, despite its affordable price tag. The tin that it comes in also gives it a more high end feel than your usual cardboard box, making this ideal for giving something different and premium feeling.
Love Cocoa Salted Caramel Milk Chocolate Easter Egg Tube, £15
Rather than keep you on tenterhooks, I’m going to give you a spoiler; out of all the Easter eggs I (and my very happy family) tested, this one came out on top for taste. Although it doesn’t come with any additional chocolates or treats, the salted caramel infused chocolate was so tasty that no one even missed the extra bits.
The flavour is based on one of Love Cocoa’s best-selling chocolate bars, and it’s not hard to see why it’s a fan favourite. It’s made with Colombian milk chocolate, buttery caramel and British sea salt, and has a rich, perfectly balanced sweet and salty flavour that we couldn’t get enough of.
Montezuma’s Chocolates Beehive Yourself Dark Chocolate Easter Egg with Honeycomb, £15
If you’re looking for something that gives back whilst still being delicious, this is the Easter egg for you. Montezuma’s Beehive Yourself egg is made from gluten-free dark chocolate and contains honeycomb pieces that added a delicious extra layer of flavour and crunch to the chocolate.
However, it’s not just an Easter egg you get inside – you’ll also get a packet of sunflower seeds and a small pot to grow your own sunflowers to help attract and preserve the bee population, as well as a donation from every sale going towards The Bumblebee Conservation Trust.
Cadbury Dairy Milk Fingers Chocolate Easter Egg bulk box, £37.40
This got wolfed down before I could even attempt to include in our line up photo, which speaks volumes about how popular it was. Cadbury is a mainstay every Easter, and Chocolate Fingers are definitely one of its most popular biscuits, which makes this giant bulk buy a must. Inside you’ll get four Cadbury Milk Fingers Easter Eggs, which each include three mini packets of Fingers making it ideal for larger families or when you have to buy for several people.
Sweet Treat New Raffaello White Chocolate Easter Egg, £25.89
For something a bit different from your usual milk chocolate eggs, this Rafaello White Chocolate Easter Egg is a must. The egg itself is huge, and made from white chocolate with coconut and almond pieces throughout, and it also comes with six individual Rafaello chocolates inside. This was definitely a decadent indulgence and perfect for white chocolate lovers!
