Jack Osbourne has tearfully shared the unlikely turn of events that meant he was able to spend a week with the rockstar before his death
Jack Osbourne has revealed he was able to share a week with Ozzy before the rockstar’s death thanks to an unlikely twist of fate.
Ozzy, 76, tragically died in July, just weeks after his final concert with Black Sabbath. He had been living with Parkinson’s disease since 2019.
In his first podcast episode since his dad’s death, Jack tearfully shared that he was able to spend a week with his father before he died, despite being based in LA. He spoke about how he had flown to the UK to join his family for Ozzy’s appearance in Black Sabbaths farewell show in Birmingham and that the week he then spent with his father was made possible by some unlikely twists of fate.

“Some really interesting things happened that allowed that week to happen,” he said. “My family were scheduled to go on vacation, and we were supposed to go to Portugal, but my kids got sick, they all had stomach virus and it was really gross.
“So, we cancelled the trip and hung out at my family house in England for a week. It was awesome. It was sunny. My Dad was in an amazing mood, he was really happy.
“I look back on that now and I’m so grateful.”
Reflecting on his dad’s death and how it’s affected him, Jack, who is Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne’s youngest child, added that while he wished his father was still alive, he was comforted knowing that Ozzy wasn’t suffering anymore: “There was a level of like, ‘Okay, he’s not struggling anymore. He’s not suffering anymore.’ And that is something.
“I wish he was still here, you know? I wish he was still with us all, but he was having a rough go and I think people saw that at the show.”
This comes just after Jack blasted Roger Waters following comments the 81-year-old singer-songwriter made about Ozzy and Black Sabbath. In an interview with The Independent Ink, Roger was asked about the late rockstar and said he wasn’t a fan.
“Ozzy Osbourne, who just died, bless him in his whatever that state that he was in his whole life,” he said. “We’ll never know. The music, I have no idea. I couldn’t give a f***.”
He continued: “I don’t care about Black Sabbath, I never did. Have no interest in biting the heads of chickens or whatever they do. I couldn’t care less.”
Jack took to Instagram to react, writing on his stories: “Hey @rogerwaters. F*** You. How pathetic and out of touch you’ve become.
“The only way you seem to get attention these days is by vomiting out bulls*** in the press. My father always thought you were a c**t – thanks for proving him right.”
On his podcast, Jack insisted Ozzy’s legacy would continue.
“He’s exploding through the universe and we’re all seeing it. So, I’ll just end with this, you know – thank you.”
