Jade Thirlwall’s new album, That’s Showbiz Baby, has been going down a treat with fans and the former Little Mix star has now let them into a secret about one of her hit tunes
Jade Thirlwall continues to mark her mark on the music industry as a solo artist and she has revealed the amazing secret behind her new tune. The former Little Mix star, 32, recently released her debut album, That’s Showbiz Baby, featuring huge hits such as Angel of My Dreams and FUFN.
However, it was her rendition of Before You Break My Heart that grabbed the attention of listeners. The song, which is a mashup that includes the iconic Diana Ross and The Supremes song from 1965, Stop!, has received rave reviews from Jade’s fans.
And now, she has let them into a little secret – the younger voice heard in the chorus of her tune is actually her when she was just 11. The vocals come from a previous recording during her time performing at home in South Shields.

She admits playing the video to her producer who loved it so much it got included in the final edition. Taking to Instagram, Jade shared the video with her followers and captioned it: “How we made Before You Break My Heart.”
The clip saw a young Jade singing in a purple dress before it cut to today and Jade in the studio listening back to the enhanced version.
She also shared how her niece features in the video as a young version of herself. It comes after a sweet rendition of the tune was first heard during her BBC Proms showing in her home region at the Glasshouse.
Jade captioned the upload: “How we made Before You Break My Heart,” with one user gushing: “Sampling yourself singing as a child was GENIUS.”
Another added: “I’ve been listening to this song non-stop all morning and thinking about the creative process behind it, with all the tiny and enticing production details/ Easter eggs (as I believe is a trademark of the whole album).
“I kept thinking it was such a great way of sampling (don’t know if it’s the correct term in this case) a classic yet not in a lazy way, but in a more personal one, almost owning it. And now that I see this, I know why. Congrats on this stellar body of work, it’s been quite a while since I’ve been this excited about an album.”
“Little jade is everywhere and i love it,” wrote a third, while a fourth said: “I remember you practising in that dress in the sitting room most nights. Love the sample.”
She previously admitted she won’t be making any money from the tune no matter how successful it is. “I didn’t think [Before You Break My Heart] would be a favourite,” Jade said in a recent interview. “But it’s the one that’s getting the most traction online.”
When she was asked by The Sun how she was able to use the sample on the track, she confessed: “I am getting no royalties for that track, that’s how I got it.”
