The JLR Foundation will focus on supporting the personal, social and educational development of children and young people through initiatives that further their skills, knowledge and abilities
Jaguar Land Rover is to launch a charitable foundation dedicated to fueling the aspirations and potential of young people..
The automotive powerhouse announced the launch of its JLR Foundation that aims to drive millions of pounds into nurturing the skills and prospects for children and youngsters. The company is ready to inject £2.5m in the first year alone to bolster its benevolent efforts, with the ambition to ramp up this financial vow each year to come.
The investment will be used to award grants earmarked for charitable bodies and organisations that propel children and young individuals towards honing their abilities and reducing disparities by opening doors to the less fortunate.
Heading the new foundation as one of its trustees, Andrea Debbane, JLR’s chief sustainability officer, said: “We have a long history of innovation, transformation and creating aspirational products because of the talented people who work and thrive in our business.
“Today’s young minds are tomorrow’s engineers, designers and innovators, and they are the leaders and creators of our future society. We want to help unlock aspiration and potential in all children and young people, many of whom miss out because they don’t know opportunities exist, or they don’t have the self-belief or means to try.
“By removing barriers and providing access to the right skills, knowledge and opportunities, they can all play their part in building an exceptional and sustainable future.”
