The social media star – who recently revealed he is set to pocket £31 million from the fight – has claimed that he and Tyson can potentially earn a lot more money on November 15
YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul has revealed ‘key performance indicators’ can potentially trigger certain bonuses in his fight with Mike Tyson.
The two boxing stars will go glove-to-glove on Friday, November 15, with the fight taking place in front of up to 80,000 fans at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas. The pair were due to face off back in July, however, ‘Iron Mike’ was forced to withdraw from the bout after suffering an ulcer flare up on a flight.
Earlier this year, Paul boasted he will earn $40million (£31m) for fighting Tyson in the squared-circle. When asked at a press conference if he brought ‘Iron Mike’ in to add “validity” to his boxing career, the young American said: “I didn’t bring him to do s***; I’m here to make $40million and knock out a legend I don’t give a f*** about anything else, he’s the one who wanted it to be a pro fight and he’s going to get his a** knocked out for real.

Mike Tyson will face Jake Paul in the ring on November 15. The fight will air exclusively on Netflix, which is available for free with Sky’s latest TV deal.
Shoppers can get the Sky Stream bundle for £26 a month – or £29 on a monthly rolling plan – which comes with Netflix subscription at no extra cost
“You’re going to see on his record; Jake Paul KOs Mike Tyson; I’m not here to do s*** except make a bag. Every time fighters sit across from me and it’s ‘YouTuber this and Disney kid that’ and they end up on the canvas… this is going to be no different. I brought this deal to this old ass motherf***er, we signed the contract with Netflix and we brought him the deal. You’re welcome my son.”
In an interview with SPORTbible, Tyson revealed that the he doesn’t anticipate pocketing a mouthwatering payday. “This fight is not going to change my life financially,” he said. “If I did it for free, it’s not going to change my life. My wife is constantly telling me, you do not need to do this fight. This is what I want to do, this is me. I’m seeking my glory.”
However, despite Tyson’s comments, Paul offered a different answer when it comes to the finances involved in the fight. ‘The Problem Child’ revealed that “bonuses” in his contract could ‘boost both his and Tyson’s earnings.’ “There are definitely certain guaranteed figures and other certain built-in bonuses and stuff on top of sales – key performance indicators that trigger certain things,” he said. “This is definitely my biggest payday, of all the fights for sure. It is definitely a healthy payday.”
Ahead of the fight, Tyson claimed that money is not a motivating factor against Paul. Tyson’s earnings now come more readily from cannabis than fighting and ‘Iron Mike’ is more interested in the risk available to him by taking on Paul in his return to the ring. “I could be waiting on a check every day from cannabis,” he said in September while commentating at a Cage Wars MMA event.
“That’s bulls*** for me. I’m a man; I want to go out there and I want to expose myself to risk. Sometimes I want to see who I really am. I want to see what I’m really made out of. I want to perform in front of the world. To me, that’s all I ever knew how to do since I was 14. This fight is not going to change my life financially enough. This is just what I want to do.”
