James Jordan has ‘hit back’ at Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood after he made a ‘scathing swipe’ towards his wife and former Strictly star, Ola Jordan
James Jordan isn’t holding back as he responds to Craig Revel Horwood’s scathing swipe towards his wife Ola.
Last month, professional dancer Ola Jordan called for ‘nicey nicey’ Craig to be axed from the Strictly Come Dancing judging panel. Alongside this, she said the judges needed to have more spice and a refreshed appearance in order for them to remain relevant to audiences.
Speaking last year, Ola also said to Mecca Bingo: “I feel like Craig’s lost his sparkle. People loved Craig for what he was before. He would say it as it is, saying he wasn’t good, that was rubbish, but it’s almost like he’s got to say a positive now.” She then continued to suspect the show ‘didn’t want any negativity’.
Despite the comments being made during December 2024, when the show was on air, they seem to have only just made it onto Craig’s timeline. On Wednesday afternoon, the Strictly judge took to X, formerly known as Twitter to write: “Former Strictly pro Ola Jordan says ‘nicey nicey’ Craig Revel Horwood replaced with ‘spicier’ judge.” Maybe you’d like to suggest your wonderful husband Ola?”
Craig’s tweet was filled with responses from X users, including James Jordan who ‘hit back’ hours after the original tweet. Quote tweeting Craig’s tweet from the afternoon, he fumed: “Why’s that @CraigRevHorwood??Do you think I would make a good honest judge?” However, it seemed like James wanted to keep the peace towards the end of the tweet, as he wrote: “I don’t suppose you read the part where she said you were her favourite judge – big love my friend,” alongside a red heart emoji.
Fans were quick to respond to James’ reply, with some calling for him to join the panel next season. “I’d rather have you and Craig on the judging panel. The show has lost its spark,” said one, while another wrote: “Classy response James, when the live shows are on your comments on here are more honest and accurate.”
Others called for both James and Craig to be on the panel alongside one another. “Both of you need to be Judging,” said one, while another exclaimed: “Omg both together TV gold!!”
Speaking on his ‘change in demeanour’ in an interview with Radio Times , Craig said: “I was really harsh 20 years ago. When I look back, I think, ‘Ooh, that’s cutting.’ It would now be classed as bullying, and then I’d be cancelled. It’s not fear of being cancelled. It’s just, how can I reach out to them and help them to improve, rather than just saying, ‘This is wrong, that’s wrong.’ I’m thinking more like a teacher than a judge.”
