Jamie Oliver’s pumpkin and ginger soup is an easy-to-follow recipe and whilst it tastes amazing, the ingredients will boost your immune system and keep the circulating colds and flu away this season. You won’t need anything fancy to make the soup and you won’t be standing at your stove for hours on end either. All you will need is a pan and food processor and you will have a warming batch of soup that will last you a few days in no time. And the recipe even has great health benefits for this time of year.
You have probably had a lemon and ginger tea when you are feeling under the weather or a ginger shot and that’s because ginger is filled with antioxidants that help protect your body. Nutritionist Nicola Shubrook says pumpkin is packed with “beta-carotene” which turns into Vitamin A when eaten. Speaking to the Express she said: “Vitamin A plays an important role in promoting immune function.”
