The January transfer window is open for more than four weeks for the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal to make moves, while Real Madrid eye Trent Alexander-Arnold
The January transfer window is open and clubs from the Premier League and beyond can start to do the deals required to achieve their ambitions in 2024/25.
Deals are often difficult to come by but the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool and Manchester City are all being linked to making moves. They are not alone in their needs with comings and goings expected throughout the month.
The winter market opened up on January 1st and thus deals have already been completed across the United Kingdom. There are more than four weeks for transfers to get over the line.
Deadline Day will arrive for Premier League, English Football League and Scottish sides on Monday February 3 at 23:00 GMT. The finale of the window aligns for much of Europe, though the exact times on the date vary.
The Bundesliga’s and Ligue 1 windows will shut at 5pm, while Serie A’s window will close two hours later at 7pm. The Women’s Super League window only runs through until Thursday Jan 30 however.
Last year saw Premier League clubs put up a relatively modest gross spend of £100million in January. That was £715m less than the figure recorded in 2023 as Chelsea’s lavish spending saw the division hit a record mark.
Tottenham’s deal for Radu Dragusin was the landmark deal 12 months ago. The Lilywhites signed the young defender for £21.5m from Genoa to record the most expensive deal in the division.
January 2025 looks set to be busier however. Mirror Football takes a look at every deal completed so far below.
