Congress released 23,000 documents handed over to the US House Oversight Committee by the dead paedophiles’ estate – and buried in the trove are some choice quotes about the US President
Jeffrey Epstein branded Donald Trump “dirty” and “evil beyond belief” in revealing emails published today.
The messages came in 23,000 documents handed over to the US House Oversight Committee by dead paedophile’s estate. They also reveal Epstein had sent Russian figures advice on how to deal with Trump weeks before the then US President met with Vladimir Putin. One document reveals a conversation from August 2018 between Epstein and Kathy Reummler, an associate and former White House Counsel, apparently about his former ‘fixer’ Michael Cohen.
It had been reported that day that Cohen was considering “flipping” on Trump and giving evidence to an investigation into allegedly illgal payments made to porn actress Karen McDougal.
“It makes no difference whether it was his money,” Reummler wrote. “Issue is failure to disclose. Plus, fact that he has lied his ass off about it makes clear that he knew it was illegal.” Epstein responded: “You see, I know how dirty Donald is. My guess is that non lawyers [and New York business] people have no idea what it means to have your fixer flip.”
Later that month, Cohen pleaded guilty to eight criminal charges, including five counts of tax evasion, one count of making a false statement to a financial institution, and two campaign finance violations. During his plea, Cohen directly implicated Trump, stating he made payments to two women Karen McDougal and Stormy Daniels, “at the direction of the candidate” for the primary purpose of influencing the election. Cohen was sentenced to 3 years in prison and a $50,000 fine. Trump was last year convicted of 34 felony counts of falsifying business records related to the Stormy Daniels payments. He was given a conditional discharge on January 10, ten days before his second inauguration.
In another email between him and New York Times journalist Landon Thomas Jr, Epstein – America’s most notorious paedophile, said Trump was “evil beyond belief”. Thomas had asked Epstein if he would consider calling Trump to try to calm his excesses.
“Maybe it’s time for you to jump in now, he wrote. “Given how he is throwing caution to wind in such epic fashion, why wouldn’t he take your call?” Epstein wrote back: “He feels alone. and is nuts!!! I told everyone from day one. Evil beyond belief. Mad, and most thought i was speaking metaphorically. It’s obvious he could crack.”
Epstein also revealed he had been giving advice to senior Russian government figures about how to deal with Donald Trump. The financier’s repeated attempts to wield influence internationally were shown in an email exchange between him and Thorbjørn Jagland, an associate and the former Prime Minister of Norway – who was Secretary General of the Council of Europe at the time. During his time as Secretary General, Jagland was accused of being soft on Russia and slow to tackle corruption.
He was also chair of the Nobel Committee when the body awarded the peace prize to Barack Obama. Epstein wrote to him in June 2018: “I think you might suggest to Putin that [Russian foreign minister Sergei] Lavrov can get insight on talking to me. [Former Russian UN Ambassador] Vitaly Churkin used to, but he died?!”
Churkin was Russia’s longest serving ambassador to the UN, and had died a year earlier. Jagland replied: “I’ll meet Lavrovs assistant on Monday and will suggest. Thankyou fo[r] a lovely evening. I’ll com[e] to UN high level week.”
Epstein replied: “Churkin was great. He understood Trump after our conversations. It is not complex. He must be seen to get something. It is that simple.”
Epstein’s bid to meet up with Lavrov came a few weeks before Trump met Putin in Helsinki. Later he criticised Trump’s performance at the summit to former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers. Summers wrote in an email: “Do the Russians have stuff on Trump? Today was appalling even by his standards .”
“My email is full with similar comments, wow,” Epstein replied. “I’m sure his view is that it went super well. He thinks he has charmed his adversary.. Admittedly he has no idea of the symbolism. He has no idea of most things.”
