Joey Essex has broken his silence on ex-girlfriend Grace Jackson’s heated Love Island All Stars feud with Luca Bish.
The Only Way Is Essex star watched a clip of his ex having a conversation with Harriet Blackmore, where his name was mentioned. In the clip, Grace appeared upset as she discussed her relationship with Luca, leading co-star Harriett to remark that Luca was not like Joey, suggesting he wouldn’t engage in something he didn’t want. Harriet said: “Sorry to say the J word but he ain’t Joey. Do you know what I mean? He’s [Luca] not like that, he wouldn’t entertain something he didn’t want to.”
Joey reacted to the situation by sharing a stunned face emoji, which has since garnered over 2,000 likes.
Grace and Joey had a brief relationship while on holiday before their first stint on Love Island, but they decided to part ways. When Grace later joined the show, there appeared to be a spark between them again, and they briefly reconnected. However, things changed when Jessy Potts entered as a bombshell and quickly captured Joey’s attention, leaving Grace heartbroken again.
Joey and Jessy broke up shortly after Love Island endedGrace and Joey had a turbulent relationship in the villa, frequently clashing during challenges. Grace eventually coupled up with Reuben Collins on the show, but they also went their separate ways shortly after leaving the villa.
Grace is currently in the All Stars villa for a second chance at love and appeared to be growing closer to Luca until their recent disagreement. A recent game required islanders to perform a task when the bottle landed on them, and when it landed on Luca, he was asked to: “snog the islander other than your partner who shares your vibe.” Luca chose to kiss Samie Elishi, which left everyone in shock.
Samie had entered the villa earlier as a bombshell and had a past with Luca. The two had exchanged DMs before the show, but Samie didn’t reply, causing Luca to unsend the message. Grace , Luca’s partner in the villa, was furious when she saw the kiss and told Luca to “shut the f**k up.” Luca, feeling upset, got up and said, “I’m gone,” before walking away from the situation. The other islanders quickly realised that the game was over after Luca’s exit.
When it was Ekin-Su’s turn in the game, Luca, looking visibly uncomfortable, said: “And then that’s it,” hinting that he wanted the game to come to a close. Elma then said: “No, can we do one more round?” Luca responded: “No.” To which Elma said: “Why?” Harriet then chimed in and said to Ronnie: “He’s fuming.”
Ekin-Su completed her dare, and as soon as she finished, Luca stormed off, saying: “Alright, I’m done, sweet, see you later.” Harriet, noticing Luca already across the garden, yelled: “Luca, where are you going?” Luca didn’t respond and kept walking, leaving his situation with Grace hanging in the air.
Luca later told Grace that she was his top priority, but Grace was more upset that he kissed Samie, even though he had asked for her opinion on who he should go for, only to choose someone else. The pair tried to resolve their issues, but things took a turn when a public coupling decision at the end of the last episode saw Samie paired with Luca, leaving Grace single.
