Fury Sr offered his take after his son Tommy revealed his life over the past six months have been “absolute torture” despite rekindling his relationship with Molly-Mae Hague
John Fury delivered a ruthless response after his son Tommy admitted that his last six months have been “absolute torture.”
Tommy Fury recently rekindled his relationship with Molly-Mae Hague and the pair have been enjoying some time away with their daughter, Bambi. Following a brief split last year, the pair are very much back on good terms as they look to move forward with their lives as a happy couple.
However, the 26-year-old has recently explained how he has hated going out in public. The boxer was heard speaking in a new clip for his upcoming BBC documentary series, Tommy Fury: The Good. The Bad. The Fury – which is set to air on August 19. The series will see fans follow Tommy as he attempts to get his life back on track “the only way a Fury knows how”, the BBC previously said.
In a recent teaser for the series, Tommy can be seen having a chat with his father John, admitting that he has struggled going out. “My life has been absolute torture for the past six months. Horrible. Going out in public, getting screamed at. And when you go out in public and someone says something, what are you meant to do? Tip your head and f****** walk on? The reason why, you know all of this is here, is because of social media. And it is because you have a profile, and it is because people are interested in you. If you did not, you would be f*****. You would not earn a penny. So it is tough.”

Despite Tommy opening up, John was having none of it. “It is not tough.” To which Tommy replied: “It has, it has been horrible.” His father quickly hit back: “It is in your head. Has anybody died? There is no one dead is there?” A stunned Tommy hit back: “No one died, but f****** hell.”
“Your baby’s healthy. You live in a nice house, you got a good car. You are flying high. It is your mind taking over you. F*** ’em all! And live your life and enjoy what you have got. Or else you will never be happy,” said Fury Sr. “I am not bothered about anyone else’s opinions. What I am saying is, I wanna know when I am back in the ring and what the f*** my direction is taking,” the 26-year-old explained.
Fury Sr interrupted with: “Guess what? Every boxer in the world’s got this problem.” While Tommy seemed a little sceptical about his dad’s reply, Fury Sr said: “Of course they have. You take too much for granted. But I am and old school kind of man. You are never going to learn off of today’s people. Cause they do not know anything!”
Tommy chimed in with: “That is not the world we are living in today. It is not like it was in the 80’s,” to which Fury Sr replied: “Well, guess what? You are going to have a very unhappy life.” In the end, Fury Sr told his son to ‘get a grip’ before leaving the room. “Come on, man. Give it a break. You are overthinking everything,” he said. “Get a grip, know your worth, and march on forward. And we are sat here ‘ social media don’t like me.’ Get me out of here.”
