Former TOWIE star Kate Ferdinand has confessed to having a ‘big worry’ about her move to Dubai with husband Rio Ferdinand and their children as she gave an update to her fans
Kate Ferdinand has admitted she had one big worry about packing up her life in the UK to move to Dubai with her children and husband Rio. The former TOWIE star, 34, decided to up sticks to the United Arab Emirates city, where they met while on holiday in 2016.
She confirmed they are starting their “new chapter” together in a poolside post last week. Kate and former footballer Rio, 46, said they were ready for “fresh starts and new beginnings” following the move from Bromley, south east London.
They moved to the exclusive gated community of Al Barari with son Cree, four, and daughter Shae, two. The couple also have Rio’s three children Lorenz, 19, Tate, 17, and Tia, 14, whose mum was Rio’s first wife Rebecca Ellison, who died from breast cancer in 2015.

While Kate and Rio have shared lavish photos of their new home, the reality star revealed the move was stressful for the whole family – including their beloved dog Ronnie.
Kate shared a photo of Ronnie as she revealed: “I don’t think I’ve told you all but Ronnie has been in heart failure for a while now, so moving was a big worry for us as I wasn’t sure if he would be able to deal with the stress.
“He’s been settling really well but walks are limited because of the heat so this morning we went to an indoor play park and he absolutely loved it.”
Confirming they had finally made the big move former TOWIE star Kate said: “A new chapter, a fresh start – because if we don’t try, we’ll never know.
“Ahhh! We’ve talked about this for so long, and now it’s finally real… we’re here, we are making a new home in the place we met!” The family had lived in Bromley, where Rio worked as a pundit for TNT Sports.
However, the Manchester United legend quit this role for the move overseas. It is quite the change for the clan, particularly Rio, who was raised in the hustle and bustle of Camberwell, south London.
The home in Al Barari is near Dubai’s major social hubs and amenities. The neighbourhood is home to other celebrity families, including The Real Housewives of Dubai star, Caroline Stanbury, and her husband and ex-Real Madrid footballer Sergio Carrallo.
Kate and Rio’s home was listed for 32.5million dirhams (£6,550,310) as of April this year.
The exclusive gated community of Al Barari is dubbed the Green Heart of Dubai, having been praised as an award-winning eco-community, boasting around 15.3million square feet of preserved green space.
The family have been soaking up the sights of the city already as the couple shared snaps looking onto the famous Burj Khalifa building with three of their children.
