Natasha Archer has been a member of the Royal Family’s staff since 2010 when she joined as a personal assistant for Princess Kate and Prince William – but now she has reportedly stepped away
Princess Kate’s righthand woman has reportedly stepped away from her service after 15 years.
Natasha Archer is set to leave Kensington Palace after 15 years of dedicated service to Kate, according to People. Known affectionately as “Tash,” Archer, 37, joined the staff for the Royal Family in 2010 as a personal assistant for Princess Kate and Prince William. After taking on the role, Archer became a key part of Kate’s team and was known as her unofficial stylist. She was recently the senior private executive assistant to the Prince and Princess of Wales.
With an eye for British fashion, Archer became instrumental in curating Princess Kate’s wardrobe ahead of several royal engagements and tours, including Australia and New Zealand where Kate wore 24 outfits in 19 days.
Archer helped Kate emerge as a prominent wearer of designers Alexander McQueen and Kenny Packham. The apparent “Kate Middleton Effect” became a fashion phenomenon with items she ended up wearing selling out shortly afterwards.
In a daring first for a Royal, Archer ended up persuading William to wear a traditional sherwani to a 2019 reception in Pakistan. She also worked alongside Kate to upscale several of her dresses in a bid to become environmentally conscious, which led to her renting a dress for the Earthshot Prize Awards in Boston, Massachusetts, in 2022.
The top staffer joined Kate during a tough five-hour hike in the mountainous country of Bhutan in 2016, in case the princess needed an outfit change.
Archer has not just been by Kate’s side for trips and tours, and was by her side at St Mary’s Hospital to assist by handing over an outfit and baby seat shortly before the birth of Prince George in 2013.
Archer went on to have some baby joy of her own, and is now a mother of two after she married Getty royal photographer Chris Jackson in 2017. She was promoted in 2022 and led a senior private executive assistant role.
Archer is now moving on to her next chapter while William and Kate remain focused on their roles, with the latter easing her way back into public life after she was diagnosed with cancer last year.
