Comedian and mother-of-four, Katherine Ryan, has admitted she spoils her teen daughter and revealed the reasoning behind her decision
Katherine Ryan has revealed she is happy to spoil her teen daughter with extravagant presents and expensive flights. And she admits there is a big reason as to why she does so.
The comedian, 42, is a mum of four, including 16-year-old Violet. She is also mother to Fred, four, Fenna, two, and newborn, Holland.
And while talking about nepo babies, she explained why she is so happy to spoil her brood. Speaking to Paloma Faith on her Mad, Sad & Bad podcast, Katherine confessed: “I don’t raise humble children. I know that being a nepo baby can backfire.
“A lot of these children can really struggle to ascend to what their parents have achieved and that can be a terrible feeling. However, I have decided to spoil my daughter as much as I can and give her really extravagant Valentines.”

She went on: “I fly her wherever she wants to go, I get her VIP tickets to anything that I can because then I feel like she won’t be impressed by someone’s dusty son. I used to be really impressed by like the offer of a ride home.
“I think I am a pretty great mother… and an excellent dad. Parenting is my wheelhouse. I’m good at it.
“I’m honest with my kids, I look after my kids. I don’t have the same shame that I think is hoisted upon a lot of women if they chose to be mothers.”
Earlier this month, Katherine welcomed baby number four with husband Bobby Kootstra. Katherine had initially tried to keep her baby news a secret for as long as possible, but daughter Violet dropped a huge hint in a social media post.
Following her daughter’s antics, the TV star’s husband, Bobby, took to social media to announce the arrival of their daughter. He wrote: “Holland Juliette Kootstra has arrived.
“The ‘Patrick Mahomes’ of childbirth pulled out another MVP performance! Amazing to witness the greatness of @kathbum #blessed.”
And following the birth, Bobby revealed that his Canadian wife sipped on Dom Pérignon champagne from the comfort of her hospital room. The retail price for a bottle of the vintage bubbles is around £189.
Elsewhere, Katherine also tucked into a selection of luxury foods, including sushi from celebrity hotspot Nobu restaurant. Once again, she did so from the comfort of her swanky hospital suite.
Earlier this year, Katherine opened up on her wishes for a fourth child as she admitted she didn’t think time was on her side. The former Celebrity Gogglebox star visited a fertility clinic with husband Bobby and discussed the chances of them being able to conceive.
