It’s a feud that has been rumbling on for 16 years and shows no signs of stopping anytime soon. Here are Katie Price and Peter Andre’s most viscous fights
After finding love in the jungle, they were once the nation’s favourite couple, but since their bitter divorce, Peter Andre and Katie Price have been locked in a bitter feud for almost two decades.
On Thursday night, Peter, 52, issued a bombshell statement and made a number of new claims about his ex-wife following the mum-of-five offering her former spouse an olive branch and calling for an end to their war of words.
In his blistering statement, Peter claimed their two children, Junior and Princess Andre, have been in his care since 2018 “for their safety” as he publicly rejected Katie’s call for a truce.
Katie hit back, with her representatives telling the Mirror that the mum-of-five “will no longer be gaslighted and bullied as she once was” and that the matter is “now in her lawyers hands.
The former couple’s latest slanging match is just the latest in a 16-year long war of words between the two stars. Here’s a rundown of Katie and Peter’s biggest clashes.
Shock split announcement – 2009
Quick on the heels of sparking up a romance during their time on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! 2004, Katie and Peter quickly welcomed children Junior and Princess into the world and tied the knot at Highclere Castle, Hampshire in 2005.
However, it wasn’t meant to be and their split was announced in 2009 after four years of marriage. The statement from the couple’s management company, Can Associates Limited, said at the time: “Peter Andre and Katie Price are separating after four-and-a-half years of marriage…. They have both requested that the media respect their families’ privacy at this difficult time.”
The joint statement marked the last time the exes would ever put on a united front. Katie and Peter, who remained with Can Associates Limited, embarked on multiple public spats as they moved on.
Katie pays Peter libel damages – 2011
Two years on from the announcement, Katie was forced to issue a public apology to her ex after claiming the Mysterious Girl singer cheated on her and was not genuine with his feelings during their marriage.
Peter started defamation proceedings in 2009, shortly after their split, over interviews Katie gave to Heat magazine and The Graham Norton Show.
Katie was forced to pay “substantial” damages to her ex. At the time, Peter’s solicitor said that the compensation would be paid into a trust fund for Harvey Price, Katie’s eldest son with footballer Dwight Yorke.
Katie brands Peter’s wife Emily ‘disgusting’ – 2022
In a quickly deleted social media post at the start of 2022, Katie took a seemingly unprovoked attack at her ex-husband’s new wife. She shared a magazine cover featuring Dr Emily Andre on her Instagram Stories, branding the mother-of-three a “disgusting person”.
“My mouth has been shut for so long but I’ve had enough of people selling stories on me and particularly this so called woman @dr_emily_official,” Katie began in the deleted Instagram Story.
“Always said I don’t want to be famous yet doesn’t do too bad to stay away from media and TV and now trying to make a career out of it. So cringe she has used my children to make money in photo shoots yet covers her own children’s faces up!”.
Katie, who was writing one year on from her drug-drive crash, then accused the doctor of “being jealous” of the relationship she has with her eldest daughter. “She claims to be a doctor who clearly doesn’t have a clue about mental health,” the mum-of-five continued in the post.
“Oh and stopped my daughter from visiting me at The Priory when she wanted to see her mum. She is so jealous of my relationship I have with Princess and puts me down. Emily you are not and never will be my kids’ parent so mind your own business, your so two faced and definitely not the person you portray to the public. I think your a disgusting person so stop trying to interfere in my life.”
‘Pete was a nobody’ – 2024
During an appearance on Anything Goes with James English, Katie claimed Peter wasn’t a major star before they began a relationship. “When we did jobs together I’d always get more money, make sure we had separate contracts,” she claimed on the podcast.
“I think he found that a bit hard as well. I was like well hang on you’ve just turned up in the jungle, I’ve already got a career going on. You had a song like, how many years ago? you need to earn it. this is the truth, I don’t care what anyone says I made Pete again. I made him”
She added: “He was no one before he went in the jungle and that’s the truth, that’s not me being a b****. He done that one hit, like 10 years ago and I think he forgets where he came from.”
