Nineties pop sensation Dane Bowers has shocked fans with a dramatic new look, unveiling his Turkey Teeth transformation on social media.
Dane Bowers reveals shaved teeth as he prepares for Turkey teeth
Nineties pop icon Dane Bowers underwent a shock transformation as he took to social media to show fans his new look . The singer, who was part of the R&B boy band Another Level, transformed his teeth by undergoing veneer treatment, also known as Turkey Teeth.
The procedure involves filing down the teeth and fitting new dental implants to create the ‘perfect smile’. Dane took to Instagram, pulling down his bottom lip to unveil the results. On his Instagram Stories, he posted a video showing all of his teeth, as well as his blood lined gums, clearly revealing his natural teeth had been filed down to thin stumps.
He captioned the post: “Lower row shaved.” Alongside this, he added a facepalming emoji and wrote: “Damn.” He then panned the camera, giving fans a closer-up shot of the stubs.
Dane’s mouth was obviously numbed, but he still tried to update his followers. In the video, he said: “You can’t laugh about these things. I can’t talk… I look like a baddie in a Marvel movie.”
The star travelled to Bodrum, Turkey, to undergo the procedure, as the country has become an increasingly popular destination for cosmetic dentistry due to the cheap prices. Alongside his pal, who was also getting the same treatment, he quipped: “We look so sexy.”
Dane revealed that the treatment would be completed the following day, but for now, he had temporary teeth in place. “I can just about talk now that the anaesthesia is slowly wearing off. I’ve got these fake teeth in for now, and I go back tomorrow to have the crowns fitted,” he explained.
Speaking about the flood of messages he received after sharing his procedure, Dane said: “I’ve had more messages on these Stories than anything ever. People are asking me, ‘Why would I share this? Am I not embarrassed?’ Not at all. My vanity is never that important. I don’t mind people seeing me at my worst, and I am most definitely at my worst right now.
“It’s a procedure I wanted, and I know I’m going to be happy with the results. It’s all good, really.”* The star also underwent a hair transplant while in Turkey, further enhancing his transformation.
Dane’s former band, Another Level, was a British R&B boy band formed in the late 1990s, known for their smooth harmonies and catchy hits. The group originally consisted of Dane, Mark Baron, Bobak Kianoush, and Tyrone “T”. They gained fame with tracks like Be Alone No More and From the Heart.
Another Level’s music blended R&B, pop, and soul, and they had notable chart success in the UK. Despite their early success, the group disbanded in the early 2000s, with Dane pursuing a solo career after their split.
Throughout his career, Dane Bowers has been linked to several high-profile stars, including former glamour model Katie Price and Love Island star Laura Anderson. Last year, Katie opened up about her past relationship with Dane, revealing that one of his hit songs is actually inspired by her.
Katie dated Dane at the height of her Jordan days from 1998 to 2000 and has previously described him as the “love of her life”. But when they split, Katie admits she became “obsessed” and desperately tried to win him back – even taking an overdose at one point to get his attention.
Opening up about her “first love”, who she met when she was 18, the now 45-year-old said on her Katie Price Show podcast she was “awful” about affairs of the heart when she was younger and would follow Dane around even though they were no longer together. This is why she believes his hit garage tune Buggin’ Me with True Steppers, which was released in 2008, is about her. She said: “I was getting ready for an event the other night and it came on the radio, ‘Buggin’, Buggin’ Me.’ And I thought, that song was about me. That song and those words are about me.”
