If you’re seeking a solution to keeping your plants watered when you’re not at home or without you lifting a finger, you need an automatic irrigation system. Solar-powered and armed with a settable timer, this Gardena irrigation set is perfect for keeping your balcony, house, conservatory or greenhouse plants watered without you needing to be nearby.

Designed with a solar-powered battery, which means you don’t need to worry about cables or extension leads to have it plugged in (not to mention, no added cost to your electricity bills), this irrigation system simply requires a nearby water source, such as a bucket, and access to direct sunlight.

You can pick up one of these AquaBloom solar-powered irrigation sets from Amazon for a reduced price. However, at the time of writing, this stock is running very low, so you’ll need to hurry to get yours before it’s gone. Meanwhile, you can also shop for the same gadget at Debenhams or Argos.

Plant care for when you’re not there: The AquaBloom system looks after your plants all season long, watering and taking care of your tub plants, greenhouses, or home-grown herbs even when you’re not around.

The helpful system requires neither a water tap nor a power supply in your garden or terrace; all it needs is a water bucket near your plants, and you’ll be ready to go. The AquaBloom set is a complete, ready-to-use irrigation system consisting of a 3-in-1 main unit, combining a pump that draws water, a control unit to define the irrigation schedule and a solar panel that feeds the included rechargeable batteries.

This Aquabloom irrigation system is equipped with fourteen pre-defined watering programs that let you control the watering of up to twenty plants, along with pressure-compensation drippers. It also makes use of the Aquabloom’s convenient and flexible placement, which lets you attach it to plant pots or stand beside them. Just ensure you choose a sunny place for the control unit to sit so that it can recharge throughout the day.

The installation of AquaBloom is simple and tool-free. Wave goodbye to time-consuming irrigation tasks, as this irrigation set allows you to enjoy your balcony, terrace or house with beautiful and well-cared plants and flowers all season long, without the need to worry about them going without water while you’re not there.

Retailing for £94.98 at Debenhams, £86.23 on Amazon or for £125 at Argos, this irrigation set has raked in nearly 2k reviews from satisfied Amazon shoppers who can’t stop raving about this gem.

One customer shares: “I have a small domestic polytunnel at the end of the garden with no mains electricity or water. My hose won’t reach, but normally I can manage by shuttling back and forward with my watering can. However, we were going away for a week in very hot weather, and I needed some solution so that my new plantings didn’t turn to crisps… So far this has worked really well. For various reasons I didn’t have a straightforward place to put the solar pump, so I stuck a garden fork in the border and tied the solar pump to the handle. I stuck the in-flow tube into a water tank outside the polytunnel door, and set up the drippers next to 20 veg plants, planted in a soil border. It’s really easy to configure – I’m not very handy but as long as you can use a pair of scissors, it’s quick and stress-free. I may need to re-do the configuration next year (having cut the tubing to specific plant spacings), but Gardena sell replacement/standalone drip irrigation tubing if you need it.”

While another beams: “I am so pleased with my new garden waterer. The big test came when we went on holiday for a week and I had to leave my treasured tomatoes that I had nurtured from seeds. I needn’t have worried as when we arrived home, the tomatoes were bigger and the soil was lovely and moist. I look forward to using it again and again.”

And a third chimes in: “This is an amazing little helper for your pots in the garden. If you would like a regular water supply to your pots in the garden or terrace … amazing, reliable. And it even hides away pretty well. The watersource in my case is an old trash can, which hides behind a big hidrenga und only needs to be filled once a month.”
