Kelly Osbourne has broken her silence after the tragic passing of her dad Ozzy Osbourne in an emotional tribute that calls back to a special father-daughter moment.

The Black Sabbath legend, known to millions as The Prince of Darkness, had been battling ill-health in recent years, and played his final ever gig just weeks before his death. Ozzy died at age 76 on Tuesday July 22, leaving Sharon utterly devastated over his death and heartbroken over the death of her best friend. While Ozzy’s sisters have shared their heartbreak at their brother’s death, hailing him as “loving and funny”.

In a statement, the Osbourne family, including Ozzy’s wife, Sharon, with whom he had Kelly, Aimee and Jack, had said: “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning.

“He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis.” Ozzy’s former Black Sabbath bandmates have also issued moving statements.

Two days after Ozzy died at age 76, Kelly shared lyrics from the Black Sabbath song “Changes,” which she and Ozzy recorded as a duet together in 2003, to her Instagram Stories.

“Changes,” which Ozzy co-wrote with his bandmates, was first released by Black Sabbath in 1972. In 2003, he and Kelly recorded a version as a duet with revised lyrics that reflected on their bond. The song was a No. 1 hit in the U.K., and they became just the second father-daughter pair to top the charts, after Frank and Nancy Sinatra in 1967.

Kelly has now taken to Instagram to share a heartbreaking update, writing: “I feel unhappy I am so sad,” Kelly, 40, wrote on Thursday, July 24. “I lost the best friend I ever had.”

Heartbroken fans have since been leaving tributes outside his Buckinghamshire home, with flowers and loving message laid outside the gates. Half-drunk pints and bottles of beer have also been left alongside candles as mourners toast the rock icon on Birmingham’s Black Sabbath bridge.

A source shared with People about Ozzy’s last moments, saying, “Ozzy’s final days were spent in England, surrounded by family, music and in the place he called home. He was in peace.”
