Kim Kardashian has completed a legal apprenticeship and is now eligible to take the bar exam, a journey described by one of her mentors as “one of the most inspiring” tales
Kim Kardashian is a step closer to following in her late father’s footsteps and becoming a lawyer – after graduating from her programme.
The reality TV star has completed a legal apprenticeship and is now eligible to take the bar exam, her representative confirmed on Wednesday. The entrepreneu posted an Instagram Story from a small private ceremony at the Beverly Hills Hotel, where she smiled as she donned a graduation cap.
Jessica Jackson, a lawyer who mentored her in the program, called it “one of the most inspiring legal journeys we’ve ever seen.” She said, in a speech in a video: “Six years ago, Kim Kardashian walked into this programme with nothing but a fierce desire to fight for justice. No law school lectures, no ivory tower shortcuts, just determination. And a mountain of case law books to read.”
In another slide, Kim – who has North, 11, Saint, nine, Chicago, seven, and six-year-old Psalm with ex-husband Kanye West – hugged her mentors as she walked on stage before holding up her certificate of completion. Kourtney Kardashian shared a selfie, in which she wore Kim’s graduation cap.
Kim’s younger sister, Khloe Kardashian, took to her own Instagram Story to express her pride in her sibling. She said in a video: “I am so proud of Kim. I just left her celebration lunch for graduating law school. I mean, I cannot believe this is years and years in the making. I’m so proud of her. This was just such a cool accomplishment, and I’m so proud.”

California allows people to study under a lawyer or judge as an alternative to law school. Kim, 44, could become a licensed lawyer if she passes the state’s notoriously difficult state bar exam.
Ms Jackson said Kim spent “18 hours a week, 48 weeks a year for six straight years” on the programme. Her late father, Robert Kardashian, was an attorney and counted OJ Simpson among his clients.
Kim revealed the milestone roughly a week after she testified in a Paris courtroom about her fear of being killed during a 2016 armed robbery.
“I was certain that was the moment that he was going to rape me. I absolutely did think I was going to die,” the mum of four told a Paris court May 13 about the ordeal.
She has in recent years been a criminal justice reform advocate and in 2018 successfully lobbied President Donald Trump to reduce the sentence of Alice Marie Johnson, a grandmother who was serving a life sentence without parole for drug offences.
