Lakeland’s sell-out heated airer slashed by £50 and it could save you money on bills

By staff26 February 2025No Comments3 Mins Read

Lakeland’s popular Dry:Soon heated clothes airer flies off the shelves every winter, so now’s the time to buy it – especially as it’s now reduced by almost 20%

One common problem with doing laundry at this time of year is how to dry your clothes. Even if you do have a garden, our great British weather rarely allows you to dry your clothes outside, tumble dryers use a lot of electricity, which can be expensive, and hanging wet clothes up around your house can lead to damp. Which is why heated clothes airers have seen a huge spike in popularity recently – and one of the best high street models is back in stock – and reduced in price.

Lakeland’s Dry:Soon range of airers has proven to be hugely popular in recent years, often selling out once the cold weather hits – and if you’ve been thinking about buying one then now’s the time while they’re currently still in stock, and reduced by as much as £50.

Our top pick is the Dry:Soon 3-Tier Heated Airer and Cover Bundle, Lakeland’s middle-sized model and a cover to go over the top, to speed up drying time even more. Usually priced at £244.98, this bundle is currently reduced by £40, taking it down to £204.98.

Heated airers are fairly self-explanatory – they’re fold-out racks on which you hang your wet clothes, yet they plug into the mains; the bars gently heat up, significantly speeding up drying time. This Lakeland model holds up to 15kg of washing and costs 9p per hour to run, so it could save you money on your household bills compared to using the tumble dryer – ideal with the recent news about household bills going up.

It has racked up plenty of glowing reviews from customers too, who call it a “game changer”:

“I do not know how I have lived without this product – not only do clothes dry quickly, [my] home smells amazing with fabric conditioner and also warms room so no heating needed,” one person wrote. “Folds up small – would recommend people getting cover as reduces drying time.”

“Totally in love with this,” another agreed. “Great for our Scottish weather. Very easy to use and the cover is important.”

“I love my heated airer and its cover. Gone are the musty smelling clothes and radiators covered with wet washing,” a third review reads. “It’s a real gem and has saved us a fortune in not needing the heating on to help dry bulky items like towels. Secondly it’s given off a heat in the room it’s in keeping the chill off.”

One customer, however, commented that it doesn’t necessarily deliver speedy results: “It does take longer than I expected, overall we are happy but it is expensive to purchase” – which is it’s worth snapping it up while it’s in a rare sale.

If you have a smaller space, do less washing or are looking for a cheaper alternative, Lakeland’s Dry:Soon Mini 3-Tier Heated Airer, down from £149.99 to £129.99, might be for you (it also comes in a bundle with a cover for £139.99).

Alternatively Dunelm has some good options, including this £95 3 Tier Heated Airer, and Robert Dyas’ Neo Home Heated Airer is even cheaper at £37.99.
