American singer and songwriter Lana Del Rey has sparked concern from fans after a recent hotel room selfie featured the star posing in a white summer dress accessorised with a handgun.
The 38-year-old singer, who’s known for hits such as Summertime Sadness, posted a snap to her Instagram and to her 13million followers. The snap, which the singer captioned “felt cute” featured a messy room with belongings strewn behind her, but it was what was in her hand that had fans stunned. The singer’s selfie saw her posing with a small black handgun in her left hand as she posed in front of the mirror for her selfie.

Commenting on the social media snap, fans were left in shock at Lana’s choice of accessory as one commented: “Thought it was photoshopped, went to the real POST ITS NOT.” Another added: “LANA WTFFFF”. A third shared: “Why do you have a gun we love you sooooo much and you’re music?!!” A fourth added: “The GUN.” A fifth wrote: “You’re just so iconic for this LMFAOOO.”
The snap comes as Lana recently featured in Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS Valentine campaign, which saw her in 1960s vintage-inspired lingerie in shades of blue and pink. The campaign comes after years of friendship between Lana and Kim, which saw the singer perform at the wedding rehearsal between Kim and her former husband Kanye West in 2014. The performance saw Lana perform some of her greatest hits including Young and Beautiful, Blue Jeans, and Summertime Sadness for the couple’s rehearsal dinner with guests at the Château of Versailles.
Now the friends have worked together again, yet the campaign has earned mixed reviews as fans felt the match between Lana’s vintage inspired style and Kim’s bodycon sexy looks didn’t work. Fans commented on the images on Instagram as they shared their views, with one writing: “I’m disappointed for the association because Lana is so wonderful.. that said if it were someone else’s brand it would kind of make sense?” Another shared: “Kim sure made a smart move with this new campaign knowing how rabid Lana’s fans are and how they’ll eat up and buy anything she does.
