Laura Whitmore is no stranger to making a style statement, with her former Love Island looks being among some of her finest. And earlier this week she proved once again why she’s a true ‘fashion icon’ wearing a power suit perfect for autumn styling.

Appearing on Loose Women to discuss her new true crime series, Laura Whitmore on Britain’s Killer Teens, the presenter turned heads in a striking corduroy co-ord set. The trio of wardrobe staples were from retro-inspired label Joanie, with fans going wild for the look.

Laura’s followers were quick to share their love for her look on social media, with comments flooding in: “Always been a fashion icon, you look great,” “Looking phenomenal here,” and “You look sensational.”

The tailored three-piece – made up of the Annie Waistcoat (£49), Richmond Flared Trousers (£69) and Jarvis Double Breasted Blazer (£99) – were all crafted from organic cotton corduroy with a touch of stretch making it as comfortable as it is chic. Corduroy is always bang on trend for the autumn season, making it a great time to invest in some key pieces to wear through the cooler months.

The blue hue of the set was striking and paired beautifully with the 40-year-old’s blonde locks. But for those seeking something a little different, it also comes in green, rust and pink shades, if blue doesn’t take your fancy.

The suit’s retro black buttons and flared silhouette nod to classic ’70s tailoring, while the versatile pieces can be styled separately. The waistcoat could be paired with washed denim for a night out, the trousers with a chunky knit, or the blazer over a simple slip dress. But worn together as Laura did, it’s the definition of power dressing.

Elsewhere, Boden has this Stamford Cord Blazer for £129. It comes in five colours, from deep purple to ginger and burgundy, with matching trousers available for a complete set.

For a slightly more affordable and less vibrant option, Next offers this Navy Cord Single Breasted Blazer for £58, while the matching tailored trousers are £36. The Joanie suit isn’t the only power-suit we’ve seen Laura wear in recent times, though.

In fact, she opted for another, lighter three-piece set on Monday night at a dinner to celebrate ITV’s 70th birthday, while at Wimbledon earlier in the year she wore a butter yellow Stella McCartney suit. But if it’s Laura’s indigo corduroy number shoppers want to add to their autumn rotation, it’s available on the Joanie website here.
