Former Little Mix singer Leigh-Anne Pinnock is worried about her family as the deadly Hurricane Melissa rips through Caribbean countries with winds as strong as 185mph
Former Little Mix star Leigh-Anne Pinnock has shared prayers with her grandparents and others facing the deadly Caribbean storm. Hurricane Melissa has made landfall in Jamaica and is bringing winds of up to 185mph – making it officially the strongest storm on record to hit the Caribbean island.
It’s left people bracing for the “catastrophic” repercussions of the storm and the singer took to Instagram on Tuesday to share her well wishes for those impacted. Leigh-Anne, 34, wrote on her Stories: “Prayers to my Grandparents, family and everyone in Jamaica and the Caribbean right now.”
She added a red love heart to her post. The upload was simply words on a black background as she shared her concern.

So far, heavy floodwaters swept across southwestern Jamaica, with winds tearing roofs off buildings and boulders tumbling into roads. The storm was initially labelled a Category 5 storm before later being downgraded.
After wreaking havoc in Jamaica, Melissa is expected to move towards eastern Cuba. Authorities say they have evacuated more than 500,000 people from the areas that are at risk of flooding and extreme winds.
The Met Office recently shared a verdict on how Hurricane Melissa could impact weather in the UK in the coming days.
Leigh-Anne also recently opened up on her marriage struggles due to her husband’s career away from the family. While she admitted they make the most of their time together when they can, she revealed she only gets to see her hubby footballer Andre Gray three times a month.
The star has said that they are in a “s***” situation which has been going on for the last three years due to his career taking him abroad. Andre currently plays for Turkish side Fatih Karagümrük and spends most of his time in Turkey.
Speaking on the Sh**ged, Married, Annoyed podcast with Chris and Rosie Ramsey she admitted: “Even now with my husband living abroad… we probably see each other, maybe if we are lucky, three days in a month.
“It’s so s**t. We have been doing that for three years. They [the twins] have just turned four.”
When host Rosie asked if the set up is hard for Andre, Leigh-Anne said: “So hard. He’s struggling a little bit to be fair.”
The couple first became in item nine years ago in 2016. They became engaged in 2020 before announcing they were becoming parents a year later.
At the time, Leigh-Anne gushed: “We’ve dreamed about this moment for so long and we can’t believe the dream is finally coming true… we can’t wait to meet you.”
